I'm interested in what is actually working on real websites right now. Content, links, technical, SEO, topical authority or something else? Would be useful too hear some real experiences.
I have noticed that website's combining useful content, proper internal linking, and relevant backlink's tend to perform better. There’s no single trick; consistency and understanding your audience matter a lot.

Most consistent results come from strong topical coverage along with solid internal linking. Once the site has good amount of content; relevant backlinks and technical improvements are required for much bigger impact then............
 
refresh old content and make topical authority and also make internal link.
 
Staying inside a niche, not trying to be everything all at once. Updating content and buying high quality backlinks occasionally.
