You guys should be careful because the US laws changed so many times in the past about copyright. All materials about 95 years old are free to use but need to respect the laws. All movies, videos, whatever you see out there are AUTOMATICALLY copyrighted by laws and no need to be registered with the government. There are some rare cases the materials are fall into public domain too early or immediately due to mistakes and forgotten. Check on Wikimedia common. Once you film something and save it to a physical disk, its automatically copyrighted by laws unless you decided to give permission or give it a CC0 license, else no one would dare to touch yours or re-post it anywhere. One more thing, even if the videos are in public domain, respect the actors/actresses likeliness, you still need their permission to use their likeliness.
