Hi,
I am working on back-link creation but didn't get the best results. So, I want to know that how do you evaluate the link quality? What is the best tool to conduct the back-link audit that give me full report about link quality?

Plug it in Ahrefs , then double down on the spam profile , outbound links .

Okay, I got it that Ahrefs is the best tool to conduct back-link audit. But can you help me to tell that How can I remove spammy back-link after detected them. If I don't have the access of that back-link creation profiles.
 
these days i pay more attention to relevance and traffic than just metrics like DA or DR. A link from a site in the same niche with real traffic is usually worth more than a high metric site with no activity. for audits, i mostly use ahrefs or semrush to review backlinks but i still manually check the sites because no tool can accurately judge link quality on its own.
 
To know about the quality of the links I will use Ahrefs which will give solid summary of links and it will be very user-friendly to the users to know about the quality of the links.
 
for spammy links you cant remove yourself, Google Disavow Tool is the only real option. Export backlink list from Ahrefs, filter toxic ones using spam score, then create disavow text file and submit through Google Search Console
One thing worth knowing is Google already ignore most low quality links on its own these days, so disavow only really necessary if you seeing clear penalty signal or sudden unexplained ranking drop. Dont mass disavow everything suspicious or you risk removing links that was actually helping you
 
Evaluating organic traffic and keyword rankings in Ahrefs or Semrush is the best way to check quality now. Do not just rely on third party authority scores because they can be easily manipulated. Look for niche relevance and clean outgoing links instead. :cool

I usually check relevance, authority, traffic and spam score. A solid backlink audit saves a lot of guesswork

Don't reley on DA alone. I Check relevance, organic traffic, indexing, outbound links, and spam signals first.

In 2026, my attention wil shift from the DR of the link to its potential for atracting relevant trafic. A well developed specialized page with high ranking and indexing will always be superior to any other metric.
 
Dont just look at DA or DR Check if the site is relevant gets real organic traffic and has good quality content I mostly use Ahrefs and Google Search Console together for backlink audits they give a pretty solid picture of link quality.
 
I dont really have a best tool that I go to. I look at a combination of indications such as site relevancy, organic traffic, topical match, and whether the link is truly being indxed. Ahrefs or smrush are good for a fast glance, but the ultimate test is if the link makes sense contextually and provides any genuine value - not just numbers.
 
When it comes to backlink audits, Ahrefs is my first choice because it gives me more detailed link quality information and it feels easy to navigate. Also, Semrush and Majestic come in strongly, they’re both solid, for sure, in different ways. For link evaluation, I try to lean on relevance plus authority, and also traffic signals, and I watch for whether the links look natural, not only the headline metrics like DR or DA.

Context and niche relevant matter more then high authority backlinks.

DR and DA are so yesterday. Real 2026 link quality is about contextual placement, organic traffic consistency, and clean neighborhood profiles. Run your initial data through Ahrefs or Semrush, but always do a manual check that the link page actually ranks, gets real eyeballs, and makes sense for your niche.

It is still a frequent tendency to focus too much on DR/DA. At first, I alway check if there is any trafic, relevance to the niche, indexing nd placement on the link. the indicators are only used for filtering.
 
Do not evaluate links based on just DA/DR metrics. Evaluate relevance, traffic, indexing, outbound link pattern, placement, and if the website appears to be well-maintained.
Tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, or Majestic are very helpful when it comes to conducting audits, but ultimately it's the manual assessment that makes the difference between quality and garbage links.
