Do Hashtags still matter on TikTok?

I believe hashtags are still very important when optimizing videos on TikTok. They help make your videos easier to discover through search, and with a bit of luck, they can also increase your chances of being recommended on the For You page.

hashtags search works so they are matter

yeah search is the only real reason to use them now. if you're trying to rank for a specific keyword in search then tags help index the video. but for the main feed? the algo already knows what your video is about from the audio transcripts and on-screen text anyway. i only use 2-3 broad ones now just to give the system a hint and spend the rest of the time on the hook.

Content quality wins every time.
Hashtags can still help with discovery, but great content is what keeps people watching, sharing, and coming back.
