Honestly, based on my recent observations, content quality and engagement metrics (watch time, engagement rate, CTR) play a much bigger role than hashtags,
It feels like hashtags are used just to categorize your video niche by the algorithm initially, but not as a primary means of growing an audience. If the content is appealing, the algorithm will find the audience without any hashtags.
That being said, employing 3-5 broad and niche hashtags will not hurt you as a backup measure, but won't help in terms of reach either.
