Instagram Reels Stuck Under 200 Views, Shadowbanned?

Hello,

I started posting streamer clips about 3 weeks ago. One of my Reels performed really well, reaching 300k views and gaining me around 140 followers. After that, I had two more Reels that passed 1,000 views, but since then, almost everything I upload struggles to get more than 200 views.

I'm wondering if my account is shadowbanned. I warmed up the account for 7 days before posting, avoided spammy behavior, and tried to make the account look as natural as possible.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Should I keep posting consistently and wait for the algorithm, or would it be better to start over with a new account? Also, is posting up to 10 times a day a good idea, or could that hurt my reach?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

everyone calls it a shadowban when their content stops performing. in 99.99% of cases it has nothing to do with a shadowban.
 
It doesn't sound like a shadowban. New accounts sometimes get a few posts pushed, then views drop. Just keep posting consistently and don't start over yet. I also wouldn't post 10 times a day on new accounts. A few good posts each day is enough.

You are not shadowbanned but triggering reused content filters, so stop posting 10 times a day which kills reach; keep this account, focus on heavy editing (add captions, effects, memes), and consistently post 1-2 high quality clips daily.

I wouldn't assume it's a shadowban just because your recent Reels are staying under 200 views. I've seen accounts where one Reel takes off, but the next 10–20 perform very poorly before another one starts gaining traction again.


If one of your videos reached 300k views, that tells me Instagram has already tested your content with a larger audience. I'd keep posting consistently for another few weeks instead of starting over. Creating a new account means losing whatever trust and engagement you've already built.


As for posting frequency, I personally wouldn't upload 10 Reels a day. I'd rather post 2–4 higher-quality clips consistently and spend some time checking retention, watch time, and which hooks keep people watching. Those metrics usually matter more than simply publishing a large number of videos.

What retention percentage triggers the Reels algorithm to push content again?
 
Not sure what the issue is, but it doesn't sound like a shadowban.

try posting another video and see how it performs
 
Posting a few low views after an explosive post is quite common; it doesn’t mean you are shadowbanned. The advice here would be to retain the account and post 2-5 quality posts per day, rather than force 10 posts
 
Not a shadow ban, perhaps? Just one viral reel can create false hope, but soon the normalcy returns. I think it would be best to post on the same account try out various reels, and not focus so much on quantity
 
Be creative in your reels and see what happens. Also, timing is important too.
 
A dip after a viral Reel is usually the algorithm recalibrating your audience, not a shadowban. I'd keep the same account and focus on hook quality over posting 10x a day.

With shadow ban you would get 0 views. I think the problem is on your reels content.

There will be more chance for Reel to attract more people to test their feature. nd now, Instagram is shaping itself acording to your content interaction patern. There is no need to begin with something new. Rather, you should concentrate on improving your content interaction and improving your editing skill.
 
I do not think it is a shadowban. Sometimes Reels get pushed differently, and one viral video does not always mean every post will perform the same. Keep testing.
 
I would stay with this acc for now. If one reel already got 300k then Instagram already pushed your content once. 10 posts a day feels bit much tho, maybe focus on better clips instead of more uploads. Give it some more time before starting over.

Instagram can be all over the place for a while, especially on newer accounts.
 
I think the sudden drop in reach is a very common occurrence when platforms reassess viewer retention and scroll-through rates after the initial high view counts of videos.
 
A few low performing posts dont always mean something is wrong reach can change a lot while the algorithm learns your audience.
 
viral post doesnt always mean every upload will perform the same keep testing different content styles and watch what your audience responds to.
