Google Search Console shows content search performance for Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube

You can now use Google Search Console to monitor how people find your content when searching on Google. The platform properties feature in GSC lets you view reports for your content performance on Google Search, as well as News and Discover if your content appears there.

The feature currently supports only Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube. You need to add a property and verify ownership just like adding websites and domains in GSC.

This is actually a nice update. Having Search Console data for social profiles makes it much easier to see what content gets discovered through Google instead of guessing.

This is good for SMM but I have a bad feeling that Google is trying to abandon websites and moving to social media pages instead. The traditional SEO is already declining with AI and now Google is pushing more social media properties into search than websites.

Another perspective is that they might be scraping data from social media with the permission of the user so that they'll have less reliance on Reddit and may eventually downgrade Reddit as a parasite.

Google Search Console is now showing a flash notification on every button click to promote this new feature. Seems like they want to drag all social media influencers into search console
