hello all,

Does domain age still have a noticeable impact on SEO, or can a newer website compete if the content and backlinks are strong enough?

the age of the domain is not used to establish the position. the new domain which have good topical relevace and good linkig can climb up and suceed. This is because with time there build up linkng and trust.
 
Just age is not a factor. You need to check if that domain is not spammed to death.

I'd personally start from scratch, using a brand new domain. But if you do find a good aged domain that ticks all the boxes that can definitely give you a head start.
 
Age itself might not be a direct ranking factor, but bypassing the sandbox is definitely real. If you go with a brand new domain, you are going to sit in purgatory for months even if your content is top tier. @Project Limitless is right about the spam check though... if the history is clean, the main benefit of age is just skipping that initial sandbox phase. i'd still take a clean aged domain over fresh any day just to save time.
 
I think domain age alone does not make much difference anymore. A newer website can definitely compete if it has strong content, quality backlinks and good topical coverage. An older domain may have some trust and history, but it would not rank well without ongoing effort.

It doesn't really matter that much. Backlinks matter more.
 
Domain age isn't as important as it used to be. A new website can rank just as well if it publishes valuable content, builds high quality backlinks, and offers a great user experience. In most cases, content quality, relevance, and authority have a much bigger impact on SEO than the age of the domain.
 
Domain age itself isn’t a direct ranking factor in Google algorithm.
a new site can absolutely compete if its content, links, and search intent match are stronger.

Aged is mostly better than fresh one, just make sure to check all the histories.
 
Domain age alone doesn't mean much anymore a newer site with strong content and relevant backlinks can compete just fine
 
domain age itself isn't the factor, it's more that older domains had more time to accumulate links/trust naturally, you can shortcut that with strong content/links faster now
 
Domain age is a factor but I wouldn not call it a major one a newer site with strong content and quality backlinks can absolutely compete with older domains
 
In my experience, Domain age help build trust over time, but its not a major ranking factor. A new website can absolutely compete with high quality content, relevant backlinks and solid SEO.
 
Domain age helps only because older sites usually have stronger backlink profiles and more trust signals. A new site with quality content and solid SEO can still outrank older competitors.

the age of a website is not an absolute ranking criterion however its significance is in earning trust and backlink. A yonger website will definitely suced as long as it has gud content and quality backlink.
 
Domain age has little to no direct seo impact today, a new site can compete if it has strong content relevant backlinks & solid technical seo, older domains may only have an advantage if they already built authority over time
 
Yes, domain age have strong backlinks and popularity but it doesn't mean that newer domain can't complete them. They will definitely compete them if they follow the strong SEO strategy and tactics.
 
i would say SEO is shifting towards quality, relevance and consistency instead of just keyword targeting
