Hi,

Before I got into SEO, I used to visit websites and focus only on the information I was looking for. Now whenever I go to the website I notice the things like the page layout, headings, internal links, content structure and how the site is organized. Sometimes I spend more time on looking at how the website is built than actually reading what is on the page.

Has working in SEO also changed the way you use the Internet ?

What's one think for you on website now that you never noticed before getting into SEO ?

Yes working on SEO changes the way I used the Internet.

Now I notice things like page speed, internal links and how the content is structured before I start reading.

I normally look at a websites structure and how it's layout is. Before learning SEO I didn't use to do this.

I can definitely relate to this. Ever since I started learning SEO, I pay much more attention to site structure, internal linking, page speed, and how content is organized. Sometimes I end up analyzing a website more than actually reading it. It has completely changed the way I browse the web. I also find myself checking title tags, headings, and search intent almost automatically whenever I visit a new site.

Of course. SEO is something that you can't help but look at every site you visit after a while. But don't go too far every once in a while, it can be helpful to go back to "normal user" mode since that's what the site was made for.

Absolutely I find myself paying attention to site structure internal links and content organization almost automatically now before SEO I never really noticed how pages were connected

Yes SEO changed how i browse the web One thing i never paid attention to before was search intent now i immediately notice whether a page actually answers the query or just targets keywords

Ofc as far as I am concerned the key distintion between my past and current SEO practices is that at present I consider ranking and not just page contnt. sometime in the past I used to pay more attention to seo technique rather than page content.

Now I know that Google favors some sites, I avoid some authority sites because I know they don't provide quality content but ranked purely on the merit of their brand and authority.

Not really, I still use the internet normally and focus on reading the content first.

Do you think looking a website as a normal user helps you to improve your own websites ?

That is an interesting view. Have you ever found smaller websites that provides better information than bigger authority sites.

Ones you learn seo its hard to browse the web like a normal user again

I frequently come across less known sites that provide great content - sometimes on page 9 or 10 on Google. I usually find the same set of sites on first 2-3 pages of Google for all related keywords, so the remaining sites struggle to get discovered. Google makes sure that it buries them deep so that most visitors can't find them. I tried Bing and Duckduckgo instead for a while but they are even more horrible. In one instance, I found a single website filling 70% of results in first 10 pages of Bing search results. Bing just vomited their sitemap all over the SERPs and expected us to use it instead of Google. Duckduckgo hardly matches user intent and goes rogue. I mostly use it for anonymity and privacy but it's nowhere near others in user intent matching.

No wonder people are moving to AI tools instead of search engines as there is nothing reliable nowadays.

yes, same here after learning SEO I also started noticing tghings like page structure headings ,internal links and site speed insteadof jsut reading the content.

Absolutely. I can't browse a website without noticing its SEO anymore. Titles, URLs, schema, internal links, and content structure catch my attention before the actual content does. It's become a habit.

seo definitely changed how I browse websites .I now pay attention to things like page speed, headings , internal links and content structure before I even start reading . Its interesting how your perspective changes once you learn seo
