Posting vs commenting on Reddit what's better ?

Hello ,

Trying to figure this out...

Posting feels hit or miss , but commenting seems safer

1) Where do you get better traffic ?
2) Anyone focusing on comments ?

If you are doing comments and want better results, do upvotes on the comment to rank on top of posts...
I would say to promote the brand in a strategic way like do questioning posts then answer the posts with comment including your brand name.. some upvotes on both.. this gives better results.
 
Depends on what your end goal is, sometimes you can combine both, make a post with 1 account and then comment under the post (for social proof for example) with your alt accounts.

Yeah there are many many ways to promote brands on reddit
 
whatever interactions work. but i would follow a safer route by which my accounts remain safer
 
Posting is better if you want visibility or discussion. Commenting is better if you want consistency and lower risk.
 
From posting you get far more views on whatever you want to promote, assuming your post goes live.
 
Depends on your strategy.

Posts are proactive.
Comments are reactive.

Both have their place, but if you're after max views - post is best.
Comments are better for karma, engagement and focusing in on engaged users in a niche vs. people just broadly surfing the subreddit.
 
commenting is more consistent, especially in active threads, while posting can bring bigger traffic but are miss or hit. Starting with commenting builds trust first and then the post will work better
 
focus on being the first to provide a meaningful answer to a question in the comments, as being at the top of a thread acts like a mini-ad for your profile

Comment karma is much more valuable. Post karma is much easier to obtain, but the "price" is lower. Comment karma usually opens the door to posting in top subreddits. In general, I recommend cultivating both to make your account look more organic.
 
Whatever you can get to the top…you can get a post trending, or get your comment at the top, both will bring traffic.

Posting carries more risk and can easily violate policies, potentially leading to account suspension. I think commenting is a safer approach.
 
Posting can bring bigger traffic spikes, but smart commenting is more consistent, safer, and builds trust over time—best results usually come from combining both.
 
The best results came when my comments stayed near the top of active threads
