I started a website/blog about fitness, and it took me about a year of posting one text per week to get my first organic (Google) client. The first client pays back all the investment because the blog is very low-cost.
I did ZERO backlinks, a few hundred citations ordered from India for peanuts, and 90 percent of the content is my rough draft and then expanded by ChatGPT or Perplexity. Keep in mind that competition in fitness is f. insane. However, I rank better than most gyms with almost unlimited marketing budgets and many local PTs with tons of 5-star Google reviews.
I generated 30 5-star Google reviews, and I do a few posts per week on my GBP. Financially, a blog is a no-brainer; it's almost free. I could push much more on the content and get better results, but it's just a side hustle for me.
