Instagram perma-disabled my AI influencer account (AI clearly labeled) after selfie verification, no further appeal, any help is appreciated!

Hey BHW, looking for advice and real experiences.

So last year I go into AI as a hobby and so I created an AI influencer / digital avatar account on Instagram. I explicitly labeled it as AI, including putting “AI” in the username and setting the category to Digital Creator. It was for entertainment content only, no scams, no impersonation, no fake giveaways, nothing like that.

Instagram suspended the account and the stated reason is “fraud and deception.” During the appeal flow they asked me to confirm I’m a real person with a video selfie. I submitted a video selfie using my own face, and shortly after it was permanently disabled with a message saying:

• no one can find the account
• all information will be deleted
• you cannot request another review

Questions:

1. Has anyone successfully recovered an account after a final “fraud and deception” disable (no further appeal)?
2. If yes, what channel worked, Meta business support, Meta Verified support, Business Suite ticket, something else?
3. Any idea what specifically triggers “fraud and deception” for clearly labeled AI/digital creator accounts?

Thought I'd post this in case anyone can point me to the right direction on how to escalate this for any chance. It sucks to see months of hard work go down the drain. Any help or success stories would be appreciated!

I have experience successfully recovering hundreds of Instagram accounts. And I will tell you that, first of all, you shouldn't despair. Your reason for being blocked is absolutely not critical. It's not copyright issues, and it's not child sexual exploitation, which are the problems people are usually struggling with these days. It's a completely solvable issue.

I advise you to ask a friend or acquaintance to use their device, mobile phone, and register an additional account for you, so there is no connection to you, and give you access to that account. After that, you can set up a Meta Verified account on this new account after some time, or you can even just take someone else's account.

In short, find an account that has access to the Meta Verified feature. Go through the verification process, or ask someone you know, a close friend, to go through this verification. Set up a minimal subscription and contact Meta Verified support.

Most of the time, community standard bans can be appealed, and they can be lifted, allowing such accounts to be restored.

It just takes time right now, and the responses of appeal department are quite slow, but it is entirely possible. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, and I will help you.

They write it this way in the building on purpose. I have seen many accounts where they write like this, and then the block is removed without any issues. Your reason for the block is Community Standards, and such reasons can be lifted.

In this case; you have to make a second account and contact meta and provide them details there. You have to show you are the account holder and provide them information that you didnt do anything wrong, and that you followed the TOS.

Interesting where this is going, are AI influencers really going to be a thing or will Instagram, Tiktok, Snapchat, fight this new niche?

It's wild that Instagram permanently disabled your AI account even after you were upfront about it and did the selfie verification. Honestly, your best bet might be trying to reach out to meta support, if you have access, and documenting everything meticulously, as they might have a better shot at helping you recover the account

You can always appeal through another account. They just say that, but that looks like it is appealable. if it had a lot of followers, it should be worth recovering

Meta seems increasingly sensitive to “identity inconsistency” signals.
A video selfie verifies that a real human exists, but if the public-facing persona is entirely synthetic, the system may classify it as deceptive behavior anyway - especially if the account gained traction quickly or triggered unusual engagement patterns.
The scary part is that once accounts fall into fraud/deception review pipelines, recovery rates appear extremely low.
Feels less like content moderation and more like automated risk scoring now.

Honestly it might not even be the AI content itself, sometimes automated systems flag unusual behavior patterns, device changes or identity mismatches during verification

I believe that if you appeal through another account you will probably get your AI account reinstated back to you.

Instagram’s detection systems are just super aggressive with AI stuff right now. At this point your only real chance is probably trying Meta Verified support or Business Manager chat from another account and hoping you can get an actual human to look at it. Once you get the “no further review” message, the normal appeal process is basically dead.
