Is it still possible to get niche traffic in 2026 using Telegram ads?

Hey,
I have been looking into non traditional channels for attracting visitors and Telegram is one of them.

In comparison to other niches with active communities, it appears to be less saturated.

Still, I can not claim to have much expertise managing campaigns in that space. I don not know if the traffic quality is constant or how targeting works in practice.

I am also not sure if it works better for broad marketing or more targeted niches.

what is everyone's take on the experiencing of testing telegram ads?

how consistent are the engagements? Is the channel more of a flop?

Telegram Ads still works, but it depends on the niche. Traffic can be decent but not always consistent. It is worth testing small first before putting in too much budget.

Telegram Ads works in 2026, but the "niche traffic" question depends on which Telegram Ads you mean — there are now three different things people call by that name:
1. Official Telegram Ads (TON-based, via Yandex/in-app self-serve) — runs sponsored messages in public channels with 1k+ subscribers. Targeting is by channel topic and language, NOT by user interests. So if your niche has a few clear channels people read, you can target the audience by proxy. If your niche is spread across general-interest channels, targeting is too coarse and you’ll burn budget. Minimum spend dropped a lot in 2025 — €1k now (used to be €2M EUR), payable in TON or Stars.
2. Channel admin direct buys (sponsored posts) — you DM the admin, pay them for a 24–48h pinned post. Much higher conversion typically because it doesn’t look like an ad, but you’re picking channels manually and the pricing is whatever the admin says. This is where the actual niche traffic is — you can find a 5k-sub channel that’s exactly your audience and pay $30 for a post that brings real signups.
3. Telegram Mini Apps ad networks (Adsgram, Tonads, etc.) — clicker-game style traffic. Volume is high, intent is essentially zero. Useful for app installs that pay per install, useless for actual lead capture.
For niche specifically, #2 (admin buys) outperforms #1 (official Ads) by a wide margin. Quality is consistent if you vet the channel — check the admin’s post history, the recent post engagement (use TGStat or Telemetr.io to see views vs subscribers ratio, real channels run 20–40%, fake-subs channels run under 5%).
Practical recipe that works:
- Find 5–10 channels in your niche via TGStat search
- Filter by ER (engagement ratio) above 15% and posts at least every 2 days
- DM admin, ask for rates + recent ad case stats
- Buy small first (one channel, 24h pin), measure CPA, scale to channels with similar profile
Russian/CIS Telegram ecosystem is far more developed for ad buys than English-speaking Telegram, fyi — if your niche has any RU-speaking overlap, that side has more inventory at lower CPM.

Yes,It is still works in 2026. we are still getting niche traffic from telegram ads.The key is targeting the right audience and keeping the ad simple and clear.I t takes some testing but results are possible.

I have tested Telegram ads a bit, and they can work, but it is not very predictable. Some campaign can bring solid traffic, while others drop off quickly depending on the channel and audience fit. it generally performs better for niche focused campaigns than broad outreach.

I’ve tested Telegram ads a bit, and honestly it’s a mixed bag. Traffic is there, but quality depends heavily on the niche and channel you pick. Some channels are super engaged, others are full of bots or inactive users.
Engagement isn’t very consistent either. You might get good results one day and almost nothing the next. I wouldn’t call it a flop, but it’s definitely not plug and play like FB or Google ads.

Can work well if you target the right channels quality varies but niche communities perform best

Engagement can be good if the audience is relevant, the challenge is consistency some campaigns perform well, others don’t really move the needle

Targeting is channel-level here, you list competitor or topical channels and the ad shows to their members, no individual user targeting. Strong for narrow niches where you can list 20 to 50 relevant channels, weak for broad B2C. Click-through tends to run lower than other channels but the users are real, not bots, so budget around engagement quality not raw CTR.

are the engagements you're getting from telegram ads mostly from people who are already familiar with your niche or are you seeing a lot of newcomers?

Telegram can work, but it’s not as predictable as other platforms. Engagement really depends on the niche and the channel some are active, others are hit or miss.

Targeting isn’t very precise either, so it’s better for broader reach than laser-focused campaigns. I wouldn’t rely on it as a main channel, but it’s worth testing on the side to see what sticks.

On Telegram ads can still drive strong niche traffic in 2026, especially in targeted communities, but results depend heavily on channel selection, audience quality, and creative relevance.

Telegram ads can still drive strong niche traffic in 2026, particularly within well-targeted communities. However, performance depends largely on channel selection, audience quality, and how relevant the creative is to that audience.

In practice, it works best for specific niches where engagement is already high, rather than broad, untargeted campaigns. The key is careful placement and messaging that aligns with the community, not just volume.

We've had bad experiance with Telegram ads. They have been declining our ads to countless different reasons, everytime a different one. We had our ad go through once, and it was fine for a moment, until it was taken down to some new BS reason.

Our latest advertisement just got rejected the other day due to ''Destination quality'', ''Ad destinations must have quality, original content and provide a proper user experience.''.

Apparently our content is not high quality enough now.

I think Telegram can still work, but only for the right niche.

In my experience, it is not great for very broad offers. It works better when the audience already understands the topic, like crypto, trading, online tools, marketing services, etc.

The mistake many people make is treating Telegram like normal social media traffic. Users there are usually more direct and more skeptical, so the offer has to be very clear.

I would test small first, separate traffic by niche or country, and only scale if the engagement looks real. So I would not call it a flop, but it is definitely not a magic traffic source either.

You'll need to test thoroughly, considering engagement consistency and whether it suits broad or niche marketing to see if it's a viable strategy

What niche are you in? Because traffic is depended on your niche. Generally though you can get traffic to your offer using telegram ads.
