Facebook Ads vs YouTube Ads – Which One Is Best?

I recommend going with Facebook Ads. YouTube ads are more complex to manage in terms of creating ad assets, whereas with Facebook you can run static creatives and achieve very good results.

Facebook easier to start and faster to test with low budget. Youtube needs more setup and good video or it wont convert.

For quick results start with facebook then scale later.

Hey everyone,
I’m planning to start running paid ads but I’m confused between Facebook Ads and YouTube Ads.
My goal is mainly:
  • Getting conversions (sales/leads)
  • Working with a limited budget
  • I’m still a beginner
From your experience, which platform performs better in terms of ROI?
Also:
  • Which one is easier to start with?
  • Which gives faster results?
Would love to hear your insights
Thanks!
If you're a beginner with a limited budget, Facebook Ads is usually the better choice. It's easier to start with, gives quicker results, and you can target specific audiences to get conversions (sales/leads). YouTube Ads can be great too, but it requires more budget and experience to manage effectively, and results might take longer to see.

For me, Facebook ads are better because I can test ads quickly and see results faster. it is also easier to change creatives and scale once something works.

Stick with facebook ads if you tryna flip that small bag quick since the setup is way easier for a new advertiser. yt takes too much bread for videos and moves way slower, and also your ads will not show for yt premium subscriber

depends on the product you want to advertise
thanks for the tip. i'm testing some digital products right now. do you think fb is better for impulse buys or should i go straight to yt for better quality leads?

digital product is everything.....its niche related if you want to sell an item go to fb if you offer a digital product or service it depends on the niche

I think it depends on your goal. I found facebook better for direct conversions and retargeting, you tube works great for awareness and cheaper click, but takes time to convert.

Building on the idea of starting with Facebook Ads, I've seen a significant reduction in ad spend waste by focusing on lookalike audiences and using the "lowest cost" bidding strategy. This approach allowed me to reach high-intent buyers at a 30% lower cost per acquisition compared to targeting broader interests. When transitioning to YouTube Ads, it's crucial to have a solid understanding of your target audience's viewing habits and preferences, which can be gained through Facebook's robust targeting options and user behavior data. By doing so, I was able to increase my YouTube Ads ROI by 25% by creating more targeted and relevant video content. Additionally, using Facebook's automatic ad rotation feature can help identify top-performing ad creatives, which can then be replicated on YouTube for better results.

I go with facebook ads first since it’s easier to start and usually gives faster testing results for beginners on a small budget, youtube ads can work well too but takes more setup and time to optimize

Start with fb ads because it’s much more beginner-friendly and way better for driving quick conversions on a tight budget. yt is great for brand awareness, but you’ll burn through your cash way too fast without a solid video strategy

I say facebook ads is usually better for beginners and quick testing, youtube ads can perform well too but it needs stronger creatives and more patience to optimize.

I’d suggest starting with Facebook Ads for quick testing and audience building, then scale with YouTube Ads when you want more trust and longer user engagement.

I think YouTube Ads works better for storytelling and high ticket offers, but Facebook Ads is easier for quick testing and volume.

For me, facebook works better for quick sales.
You tube feels slower but brings more quality traffic, so I use it more for long term or branding.

Choosing between Facebook Ads and YouTube Ads depends on your goals and audience. Facebook Ads are great for targeting specific demographics, interests, and behaviors, making them ideal for driving traffic, leads, or conversions. YouTube Ads, on the other hand, excel at brand awareness and engagement through video content, reaching people who are actively watching videos related to your industry or interests. Both platforms can be highly effective if used strategically, so understanding your audience and campaign objectives is key to making the right choice.

If you need help, a social media agency like Magnitude Creative can manage your campaigns, ensuring your ads reach the right audience, drive engagement, and deliver measurable results.

Tested both Facebook Ads and YouTube Ads on small budgets.

For beginners + limited budget, Facebook is usually easier to start with.

What I’ve seen:

  • Facebook = faster data, easier to test offers, lower entry barrier
  • YouTube = better quality traffic sometimes, but harder to get right (creatives + targeting)
If your goal is quick conversions:
Facebook tends to give results faster, especially for simple offers.

YouTube worked better for me when:

  • I had a solid video
  • and a bit more budget to test
With low budget, YouTube can burn money fast if the targeting/creative is off.

So if I had to start again:
I’d go Facebook first, learn basics, then test YouTube later.

Both can work, just different learning curve.
