We have some brand sites with title tag of "Brand - xxxxxxxx" on the root page. However, our subpages are getting page titles of "Keyword - Brand" even though our page title is "Keyword - Blah blah blah blah blah" when appearing in the SERPs for our main keyword. 301 redirects usually take a long time to take effect. The increases you saw in June probably weren't due to your 301.
