You don't need to know how to do any of the technical work. You just need to know how to sell. You can hire someone from any of a dozen sites to do the backend work for you at a nominal fee.

You can also get the "guru effect" or guilt by association. If you know and are seen with the local big wigs, you immediately have the ear of other less connected members of the community.
