He abused .edu backlinks with his scholarship. He also wrote a typical seo guru bullshit article how he ranked but never mentioned that just his scholarship got him into the top ranks. Actually kind of sad that it took google over a year to fix it.

If you create a website for us traffic then us law is applied. It does not matter where you host it. Another example: .com domain hosted in us but content is in German = German law

In theory you are not allowed to use the images by uploading them to your website. But almost every one does it, so you might as well too.
