Wouldn't that throw off the visitor - the url wouldn't match the product. Maybe I'm over thinking this, maybe I'm missing something. Is there a standard 'best practice' for doing this sort of thing?

Thanks for the suggestion - I had looked at them when initially setting up my program. I chose to have an inhouse system so I could accept bitcoin as a payment method.
