I agree with the above ^ wouldnt spend that much on building links etc if there isnt any content on your site yet! Would be better to have some basic content as a starting block and just develop it over time.

If it is a completely new domain, then not straight away as could look dodgy to google

i still believe it is much more accurate than google for checking backlinks, although yahoo does have the occasional glitch!

I use firefox plugins & yahoo site explorer! give decent results

I know they don't have a massive affect, but you could try directory submissions as a cheaper method

I think Magento is great for ecommerce platform, and wordpress is good for decent brochure websites.

Yeah the prices are endless, the amount of varying packages that you can produce.

Have you allowed your site to be crawled by Google? Check wordpress settings!

I agree, don't waste your time and effort on a niche - that may seem good, but isn't going to any real results!
