Forums give me huge spikes in traffic, definitely worth giving them some time and getting to know people on there too. People seem to be way more responsive if they some kind of relationship with you.

Don't do it, its not worth it because all the effort you have put in to build a content rich website will pretty much be void once they get you for it.
