I don't really understand the replies so far.
How do you actually know if you are unable to use the same card? People all the time must cancel the trial version before the card is billed. Are they really unable to use the same card for a different service?
LinkedIn provides a variety of services like posting jobs or Premium where you can provide a valid credit card number and they will only bill once the free trial is over.
So for Premium you get a month before they bill. For posting a job - three days.
But what happens if you consistenly cancel...
My LinkedIn account which I set up stealthily with gradual networking requests got restricted after a month of use. In the past, I've always had problems immediately so I thought this account was working.
But let's say it was in my real name and I provided the ID. Would LinkedIn actually...
Do you know if LinkedIn is able to check the value on the card?
For example, if the card has $50 on it, and LinkedIn Recruitment is $100 per month, can LinkedIn know there is insufficient value on the card?
Or do they only know that it's a valid card?
Let's say you use a virtual credit card to buy LinkedIn Premium (or any such service where you provide a credit card number but are only billed a month later).
Does LinkedIn check the funds on the card or do they only check that the card has the valid format?
For example, if one has a $20 VCC...
