Historically, you would be fine. However, the USA has recently been seizing domain names and shutting down sites that linked to copyrighted content and didn't host it - I wouldn't even consider doing this unless I had an offshore account. Even then, tread with caution.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this. I tried contacting bigrock support and they said to wait, it could take a few days. It's been about a week. I've purchased the transfer from godaddy but haven't heard from bigrock. What should I do?

What do you use if your site has a forum as well? I know there's buddypress but I like the functionality and feel of vbulletin or xenforo. What's the best strategy for bridges/logins/software choices? Brand new site, I want to get this right from the ground up.

I just installed AddThis after reading this thread... it has a lot of functionality, it will probably be what you need.

Okay, related question. Would it be best to: 1) have a single blog users could write to 2) have individual blogs for all users with content that could be promoted 3) have several blogs on the same domain name, topically separated, with content that can be approved Feedback appreciated.

To be honest, I think it's only going to get worse (domain seizures) as the US tries to regulate the internet. :/
