How to Move from EMD domain?

I have an EMD domain with content on it and want to switch to a more brandable domain because it gets to optimized with emd,

Can I just move all the content to the new domain without getting duplicate content?

Noindex the existing website and wait for it to be removed from Google. Launch the new site. 301 each page from the old domain to it's corresponding page on the new domain. Done.

Well, if the content doesn't exist on Google, then it can't be duplicate content.
