Of course this is fool proof for ranking sites, just hard to get a good margin on them.

Taking a cheaper domain that's still clean and TREATING it like OP describes he treats his $500 domains will yield results as well. The domain is only one part, having quality hosting, good IP's, top quality content, fresh content... treating a PBN like a mini money site... these are IMPORTANT things. Just grabbing a $500 domain alone isn't enough.

Yes, you are right. With this extra treatment + whitehat links they already have you can flip them for a hefty sum.

I admit I've never done that (so far I was content with ranking increase lol) but the possibility is there definitely.

Well, that's just the thing. I was doing it for my previous network as well but for this one it makes more sense and just feels better (for lack of better words).

After reading a post on bhw I started doing this aswell. I had a network of 40 low to middle of the line profile domains. The great thing about them was they were expired and scraped to be super relevant directly to my subniche. Getting the bigger 200+RD domains forces me to step slightly outside my niche in related but not exactly the same areas, but im willing to do that now for the higher value and the ability to use them as money sites aswell.

I guess the smaller pbn was a learning experience for myself personally and now that im maturing im ready to stop going after the Priuses and look for the Corvettes

248RD and DR48 somehow worries me. there must be a bunch of low value behind it

howeve, I get your idea and I too would rather spend 5x the money for stronger domains.

ahrefs and RD are a nice idicator how strong a domain can be.

Why does it worry you? Those are very typical metrics for good domains. 248 root domains isn't that much. There are domains with 1000-2000+ rds you can get your hands on.

None usually. They already have very strong white-hat portfolio. Quality of links can only go downhill from there in most cases.

Sometimes I do Tier 2 PBN but it's not really necessary.
