Doesn't everyone's, except highways, traffic decrease on fridays? That green line is clicks, correct?
The blue and red lines seem unchanged. Wouldn't they dip as well if you had updates on fridays?
A lot, a LOT, of the impressions and clicks stats on google search console are ghost traffic.
When you see impressions for position 300, 200 and so on, those are not real people, those are bots. Your impressions and search volumes are likely lower, and on fridays you get a natural dip for your niche.
I bet popular friday businesses (TGI Fridays?) get a spike instead of a dip.

16.3 and 23.3 are both Thursdays, not Fridays... And at least try and mark the right dates, genius. But then I guess that wouldn't "prove" your theory, would it. There is an 8 day gap on one and a 6 day gap on the other, followed by a 5 day gap to the next dip. Kinda hard to have weekly updates on Fridays if we don't stick to 7 day weeks.

Your site is simply too young or not established, most big sites has pretty stable ranking.I have never experience any "a few days" updates like that, and i have quite some experience in this.
There is no reason Google will update their algo every friday either, maybe every monday, because that is when most people want to kill themselves =).

It's not just onpage, you can't just go by that or you will never find a solution. You can have high onpage, we go as high as 15%, but the inbound anchor must match the onpage numbers. That's why some pages rank with 15% and others tank at 1% . There is no such thing as a perfect onpage%. It's having the correct balance.
Great point, I'm so sick and tired of adjusting my keyword density that gets me nowhere, moreover seeing that some of my competitors are still ranking well with a density of 0.5% for some posts and 1.5% for others, makes me think that keyword density is not the main factor here. It does play a role but it must be a combination of factors like an inbound link anchor. So having said that, I'm moving on to links. And no, my posts that were affected by this update are not 'thin', 'spin articles' or anything thing like that. And there are no ads either.
Said it before and I'll say it again. This update is (these updates are) very obviously multi-faceted. It's not just one thing.
I've got way too many sites and way too many keywords I'm tracking to be fooled into thinking it's a single thing. It's too many ads. It's keyword density. It's anchor text diversity. It's affiliate sites. It's poor content. It's PBNs. It's ... on and on. No offense, but screw anyone who strongly claims they have the one single answer. The one cure.
I've got several sites that tanked. And a few of them have *NONE* of the above issues. NONE. I've got a couple sites that have good content, no ads, not affiliate sites, and have been ranking near top of page 1 of search results for years, and they tanked. I have a few similar sites that were totally unaffected.
The update was (the updates were) about more than one thing. I don't know what those things were. What combination of factors are involved. I have no problem with people tossing around their guesses, but that's all they are - guesses. Everyone want's the magic single answer (I know I do), but I don't think there is one. So it goes.
To kill many birds with one shot I'll try the old technique that had worked very well for me in the past by finding blogs related to my website that have 'recent comments' sidebar and post a meaningful (not spam) comment there with a generic anchor text link. The idea behind this is that I don't know how many links with exact keywords in anchor text google has taken into an account. So I want to dilute it as much as possible. Sounds counterintuitive but I have nothing to lose. If it works, great, if it doesn't I'll learn something. I'll use the posts affected by this update(s) as a 'guinea pig' They lost ranking anyway, so why not use them as a learning tool.

Just thought I would add in my experience. My site lost 400 visitors a day after the March update - a few days after, not straight away. I did nothing ...but read lots.
My site has good quality articles i.e. they are extremely helpful and cover a topic in its entirety. The backlinking I had done was just guest posting and I wondered if the guest post sites had been hit or something which then snowballed onto me. Some of my pages are still on page one and they have tons of affiliate links - so I didn't think it was that.
Anyway the other day I took a look at a page that had been on page 1 but dropped to page 6 after update. I followed an online free pdf about on-page seo and did a few tweaks to the page - in accordance to the guide. I made sure the page followed all the rules in the guide apart from the url of the page as I can't really change that without it being annoying.
Anyway 2 days later I checked that page - it is now back on page 1. So for me this very much looks like an on page issue and I am hoping once I go through my other pages they will move up the rankings too and hopefully back to where they were or better.

I don't think I can PM you or give you the link as I only have a few posts! It is Diggity Marketing's pdf...if you don't want to sign up for it you should be able to put thank-you after the domain to get to the page.
They don't have amp.
When I update a post, Yoast automatically resubmits my sitemap file to google. Next time when I make changes, I'll fetch the page from Google search console and submit it to index manually.

While I agree that there are many factors any you should be doing everything you can, I'm 100% sure that the over optimization penalty is huge. This site below I renamed page titles to something less spammy and more organic, removed any spammy atl/title tags on images/links, and lowered keyword density. I still have not added more text but I'm sure that will help even more. This happened to me over and over on sites I'm updating.
