I make that about 10 days from the date of making changes to full recovery, so Google recrawled your whole site in that time... right...

The only thing that shows is you were likely hit in Feb by something, followed by again in March. And then you got released in April. 3 updates around a month apart each. Other than that, you have zero clue what you did had any effect at all.

Even if what you did do was the cause of the swift and dramatic recovery, you can be sure it wasn't alt tags LMAO.

yoast is best wp seo plugin. not saying its perfect but ive been using AIO. ultimate seo and other, and sure yoast is in front. "targeting yoast users" "targeting meta tag keyword users" why would they target people with keywords in meta tags @german seo it makes no sense they could do the same thing 10 years ago and they didn't.

There is a lot of pressure on G to take out so called "Fake News", meaning only showing big brands and media companies in the search result. There wasn't such a pressure 10 years ago. And it's not easy to hunt the small animals, without hitting the big ones.

The big players are usually not that well optimized on specific keywords but more on topics. While niche players, rank them out for long term phrases with great optimization. This is what they want to stop. To protect their client base, make more money and comply with media pressure.

I have been hit several times by various penalties lately, I have recovered from them all, the last one was keyword density and the one before was anchor text ratios. And it always hits on a Friday and recovers on a Friday.

I can confirm that this was indeed a quality update. Either you have thin content or you are over optimized for your keywords. If you have a shitty link profile than you were bound to get hit anyway. Focus on page fellas.

KW density of 0,6%?? Competitor on #1 has 3-4% kw density and the crappiest content I´ve ever seen. Really, I guess his 7 year old son wrote that content. 3k words full of nonsense, only written for search engines, without any use for the visitor. Still using sentences like "this keyword review is awesome, because keyword review has huge benefits". He ranks insanely for every keyword and has huge amount of traffic. These theories are mostly crap. Google still is shit and they don´t really know what they are doing. At least here in Germany. In most cases it´s pure luck if you survive an google update or not.

The biggest joke is his PBN. I don´t even want to talk about that.

It's possible that they went after certain keywords only. One on my posts lost ranking for *keyword* and is ranking 1 and 2 for *keyword review(s)* and the funny part is that I don't even mention *keyword review(s)* in that post. Not even once.

You still didn't get it right ? Guess what most of most of the sites, which got hit, had it common running the Yoast Plugin in Wordpress. The simply took the parameters from the Yoast for a well optimized site and hunting the sites down, by this data. It takes a while, till people and yoast will spot that.

Yoast has nothing to do with it. If that was true, instead of a couple of posts my website would have been hit all across the board.

That's not what I meant. I meant the settings marked in yoast as good may actually hurt you after the update.

Global settings in Yoast apply to the whole website, not to individual pages. Speculating that Yoast has anything to do with it is a waste of time.
P.S. Except index, noindex ... that can be applied to individual pages.

I can guarantee you that google looks at exact & partial matches within a websites source code and uses it as a ranking factor. This includes keywords found in alt tags. For some niches you need more to rank and for others you will get penalized. It all depends on the search query.
