I think there's definitely something going on, yesterday it seemed to only affect mobile results, today the desktop results have gone mad too - very old page from netmums shot from nowhere to page 1 for example.

Hope it settles back down, the results I'm looking at are rubbish.

Everyone have a backlinks with PBN?? I think google hit a pbn backlinks. Can be something like this if your pbn website have a 1-10 inner page, then backlinks from this site have a 0 power. (Because in my opinion 90% pbn have a max 10pages, so google can use it )So if you can pease write me how many pages have your one website(PBN).
What do you think about this?

nope internal pages amount is not a footprint.

unless 100% your links have 1 internal page. then thats footprint
 
Thanks for answer, so you think backlink from onepage website have a same power like backlink from big website? I think from a google point of view can be little bit weird because if you want a hit a blackseo (pbn) this is good way

no i didnt say one page domains have the same power as big domains.
 
A few of my sites danced like crazy 2 weeks ago all seems to be recovering now except one which has completely fallen off the radar
 
Hi friends, I started a new site/blog in jan ending this year the keywords are of extremely low competition and it was ranking around 25-35 with some basic link building like link pyramids and web 2.0 but after this update my my main kw which was around 35 has gone to 140+ and the other secondary kw which was until last week ranking between 40-45 has also gone to 150+ so there is huge drop in the rankings. I never monetized it and have enough content like 1k+ words content on homepage and 500 words for the secondary kws. I am no expert in on-page or off page link building but i had last month also purchased a pbn pack worth 80$ from bhw marketplace thinking that i will need powerful links to get my main kw back on track but i guess it is not helping me. If any of you experienced guys could give me some suggestions on this will be helpful alot. Thanks

He doesnt talk about footprint.
He means that maybe google started to undervalue links from small sites.
PBNs in most cases are very small sites with less 50-100 inner page and often they have like 5-10 inner pages.And if your backlinks profile to main site is based just on PBNs with few inner pages google see now that you have only low profile links.

Imo google maybe started to not consider links from small sites or consider them as a low profile links. How site with 10-20 inner pages can have any value on any subject?

Maybe thats why my newly built PBNs (backlinks added 1-2month ago) seems not working for my money site.
Btw the pbn is indexed, and ranking pretty well in serp.

Anyone experiencing the same?

That's an onpage issue. Decrease your keyword density and it will recover.
 
Noticed a ton of movement today. Also a site which has been ranked #1 for many many years dropped to #2. It had overoptimization issues that the march 8th penalties caused but since it didn't drop I never changed anything. Maybe google turned up the intensity on the March 8th penalty or added some things? Anyone else notice movement?

While I agree that it makes sense for google to devaluate smaller sites, not all sites in the web are blogs. There are other website types, such as niche specific stores, startups or cientific sites who have a small amount of pages but each page has a hell lot of value, muuuuuch more than a tipical 200-300 posts blog.

Of course some small sites can have some value for readers and they can be high in google engine if they have links from big sites but links from those sites will have little value.
Lets say you have small site like 30 pages and it has strong backlinks from big newspapers etc. As big sites link to this site it is top1 on keyword "lawyer in manchester". But still this site is too small to give enough power to other sites and if I can get link from this site it will give a little power.
