I have found an EMD which the seller is selling for 4k$. (6 yr old without any metrics)

I have heard that EMD are no longer that effective and so on, the keyword I wish to target is not that difficult to rank on, the SERP #1 has a DA 23 PA 35 (just to give an idea).

I have also found a domain which is like - ixxxx.com (where xxxx is the keyword) [all I don't like about this is that this domain would be totally new]

So my question is, shall I buy the EMD or buy the other domain?

4k sounds a lot for what most would consider useless. Better get yourself a nice domain with good backlinks.

Actually, for that niche, there are no good expired domains. they all have bizarre names.

6 year old domain with no metrics is certainly not worth 4K.

Not even close.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking myself. The only good thing about the domain is that it can be used for a variety of niche and its 6 years old.

You can get a handful of much better domains for a lot less at domainally.io and other similar sites.

The EMD aspect is not totally useless but not the factor it once was.

4k $ with no metrics. Not worth to spend that much for getting the domain name. As BTB suggest you can get much relevant domain at the cheap price. You can rank well with the perfect SEO work.
Getting the top spot in SERP ends 2 years ago. So don't even think about spending the too much amount in domain name.

As above, if you can afford to junk $4k then do it, but only if you're not down to your last $100k.
If it's a great EMD and going to earn you $200 CPC a click through Adsense, maybe worth it.

Have a look on here maybe; https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/seo-pbn-domains-great-quality-reputation-huge-variety.925971/#post-9896174

So what do you say? shall I go with ixxx .com ? 'i' also go with the flow, assume something like "buydomains" with 'i' its "ibuydomains" it's not totally vague

200$ nah, actually the cpc is 0.x$-0.0x$
My income wouldn't be from ads but with something else that my site would offer.
I think the EMD is a total no no.

The only domains I have that are EMD are ones I use to spamvertise... the ones I use for SEO sites are generic domains that I either bought and built backlinks to or ones that I bought because they had good backlinks in place and a clean history.

Ok then. I will see if I find any good metric domain otherwise I'll go for ixxx .com
thanks

Emd and PMD have same effect when it comes to seo. While age without metrics worth nothing.

Bestlaptops can be bestlaptopz and save the money for content

And if you really wanna the EMD then buy new extension, there are thousands of them now

Finally, I would really advice agains emd if it's a mediuem websote with more than 3 - 5 categories as fighting over-optimization will be a challenge

I wouldn't pay that much, but then again I can't afford it. Why not offer $750-$1k citing poor metrics? Then with the $3k savings invest it heavily ;).

I would prefer ixxxx .com, it also a good alternative to your desired domain. It also contains your keyword and maybe it's just $10 - $15 for you reg new.

Hello There,

I would not go... 4K is a lot.

I concider EMDs are still good, but branded domains are also pretty nice.

No, it's not worth it unless it has a very solid backlink profile and solid branding with an active user base. SEO is more important than EMD

The people that are saying it is not worth it don't even know what the domain is. It really depends if you are planning to build a real business that is going to be around for years to come with a chance to cash out in the future. If that is your end goal, then I would say the domain is worth it. Do some research on the history of the domain SportsPicks dot com . That is just one example. If you are going to be contacting other businesses for partnership opportunities having an EMD can pay huge dividends. It automatically gives you authority within your niche.

It's nothing like that. It will be just a normal service site.

Thanks all. Decided.
