Instagram Algorithm change Follow/Unfollow

I have a weird thing going on Instagram for the last few days, I've been following 1200 a day on a 130k account, I got banned once a month or every 3 weeks for 24 hours then kept going.

But the last few days I've been getting banned with the exact same speed, the strangest thing is the ban goes away after an hour or two, I got banned 4 times this weekend, but I decided to stop because I really don't know what's going on.

Some of the other smaller accounts are going through the same.

Has anyone noticed a huge change the last few days?

How can I gain 300 followers in a day? I have a great followback rate.

There's no other method, shoutouts and ads are expensive, I've been banned like 50 times in the last months but the account has always bounced back.

If you could tell me how can I pull gain 300 in average followers a day with any other method I would love to listen

Did you stop? I haven't, I was banned twice in a day. And the account it's like working fine, I think this new bans are very temporary and insignificant, I mean bans used to be a 24 hour thing then if you got 4 it became a week. Now after a couple hours is lifted, something major changed and we need to detect what.

Another think I'm detecting is that my follower count goes up and down, I think they are cracking big time the spam accounts.

I'm curious, at what point should you stop follow cycling? When you hit 10k? 100k?

I read in another thread that doing follow/unfollow leads to a shadow ban and IG decreases the reach.
Having +100k followers means nothing if your reach is poor or penalized by IG.

Bro your'e approaching this the wrong way. Fllw/ Unfllw should've ended a longgg time ago. You don't necessarily need shoutouts and ads. What you need to do is focus on posting good, high quality content. Along with this, you need to do some hashtag research for your niche. If you hit the right hashtags with you HQ posts, you should be able to hit top posts for the tags you used and possibly go 'viral'.

Another recommendation would be to join engagement groups. Proper engagement groups.
Im talking about utilizing your 'power' and join a 100k+ engagement group - most of the public, "no entry requirements" ones are shit.
Also some likes and comments on other big pages in your niche will help quite a bit as well.

Also search around the forum for little tips to increase your engagement. ... just cut that fllw/unfllw stuff out.

They are useless now for improving reach, you get only extra likes.

It's not that using the groups will get you penalized - it's the way they're setup; the popular, public ones at least.
I mean, you have rounds of around 500, small, random niche accs (or how ever much they are now), flooding your post with likes within half hour and you doing the same - in no way does this look "natural".

Now compare this to a decent, niche related group with accs all 100K+ (similar to OP) liking and commenting on each others posts in a "natural" manner. A group of lets say 10 of these accs will be worth so much more that the previous option.

Yeah and they won't be that beneficial for your reach if your account is really small (<20-25K followers) .
Fllw/ Unfllw will be worth more to you at this stage.

Other little things come into play as well, but just know EG's still hold value. Just the matter of finding the good ones.

The biggest engagement groups counts +1000 members and are not niche related. Now they're only useful to the admin for getting paid from the members.

Well I have 134k followers, my posts reach around 10k people organically, I post one or two times a month and they reach 22-25k as time goes by. This profile is personal tho, I'm not selling anything there, just building my personal artistic brand and getting paid for shotouts.

I would love to start growing organically from this point on, but if I stop the follow/unfollow, the follower count will start going down, so I need a very solid strategy for this. Also all my posts have 4-8k real likes, if I start posting too frequently my engagement per photo is gonna drop a lot.

I completely agree with what you said I'm just trying to see how can I make a transition to this without my account suffering any number drop!

Well I have 134k followers, my posts reach around 10k people organically, I post one or two times a month and they reach 22-25k as time goes by. This profile is personal tho, I'm not selling anything there, just building my personal artistic brand and getting paid for shotouts.

I'm not trying to bring you down here, but 10k reach is still a bit low for your numbers. You should be hitting at least 30k, but you've mentioned it being a personal acc, so I'll hold off there.

This goes in hand with the fact that you don't post much. When you stop fllw/unfllw , yes maybe it will trickle down a bit, but if you're posting solid content regularly that your followers will like to see, then it should be ok.
That last part about engagement dropping isn't necessarily true. Really not about explaining the algo + math involved but to simply put it:
Your EG per photo may drop a bit, but the overall total will increase once you start to post more. If done right, your reach will certainly increase and hence, your EG.

Did you follow the right procedure in checking to see if you're shadow banned? Are you checking this from your own account?
