ADVICE when paying for SEO via paypal

Hello,
what is the best case for paying someone via paypal for seo?
Should he send an invoice with details or is it ok, if I choose option of paying for services and then add our agreement in to notes?
My concern is that, I have agreed on some terms with freelancer on facebook, I have the whole conversation screenshoted and I asked him to verify my terms and I have listed them.

I am asking, because in past I have been scammed or instead of increasing my ranking, my site got deranked. So now I want to be protected, if something goes south, I would like to get refund via paypal.

Edit: does here also apply, that my "buyer protection" is 180 days long?

biggest thing dont pay by gift or you have no paypal cover
only use gift to save on fees if your 100% sure about the person
your paying.

Never send as a gift or family/friend, as you lose your rights to refund if there is an issue.

Only buy from sellers / services with a good reputation from a good platform for buyers, avoid these Facebook, Skype type offers.

So if I want to hire someone from facebook there is no guarantee? Even if I have proof of our terms and then list them in the payment?

I would choose the way you wrote like a 1st. I've also bad experiences with freelancers especially from Fiverr or some social medias.
Wish you best luck w/ choosing the right guy.

Just use serious sellers from here, BHW, in the worst case you can open a shitlist and warn the others about bad service. Don't ever send as gift/family your payments through paypal, for some few dollars you have a high chance to ruin your nerves.

in my country, I send invoice. If they dont pay, I sue them. only thing that is kind of free in .de

Only deal with people you can trust. There is no refund on paypal payments for services.
