Of course. The fastest and bestest. /sarc
I only run W10 in a virtual machine, and only for limited tasks with no network access. W10 is very talkative, some of the internal telemetry has been tied to government operated ip addresses. I limit this by not allowing network access for any virtual machine the OS operates in.
As far as speed, there is a thread abut Windows 9/9.5 look at the material there, and then look on the web. W10 is no faster than 8.1 with Classic shell.
And I have a lot more than a porn collection.
Relax dude, we are stuck with windows as long as we need to use .net based apps, so its not like we have a lot of choices. Ofcourse I am no fan of telemetry and government backdoors, but it is what it is.
The speed depends on the task. There are plenty of benchmarks all over the web, you can even look at the video OP posted by linus tech tips, he did some comparison as well. In most cases win 10 is faster because of the new kernel, architecture and driver support. I was skeptical about windows 10 too but I did my own homework and win10 is most definitely the best windows ever in terms of performance.
Your data is never safe in a personal computer, no matter how strong of a password you use, backdoor or no backdoor, your data can still be compromised. I encrypt my documents (except my porn collection lol) and keep them at clouds, in a secure storage with multiple access protections. Thats a much safer practice and works for me.
Dude, it is what it is .. windows 10 is not secure, you know that I know that, we protested against it, raised our hands and screamed. MS doesnt care as long as their numbers go up, and their numbers are going up. Average users dont care about telemetry (most of them arent even aware of the fact lol). So what you would do about it? Tweak and tinker with the os as much as you want, I am still not gonna trust windows with my confidential docs as long as the code is closed.
So you know, bottom line, protect your docs, and enjoy the latest windows. Make a linux based mini server and keep it offline for sensitive info if you dont want to cloud. But if you have to use windows, use win10, because despite the nightmarish lack of privacy, it is the best one so far. And it will get the supports and updates in the coming days.
