Does anyone have experience with dropshipping from taobao? They have more variety than Aliexpress, and at a cheaper price. All replies are appreciated!

It's all about convenience in navigation and interaction. Taobao website is in Chinese, while AliExpress supports like 15 languages. Imagine looking for an item and sorting out all the unnecessary options. Don't forget you will also need to import and translate product descriprion to your dropshipping store.
Besides, there really are some issues with arrainging worldwide shipping on Taobao - you will need a seller agent, and that's definitely not good for your profits.

Taobao is for the Chinese market. When I am in China we tend to buy from Taobao, but probably not the best for importing to the west. Alibaba, Taobao, Aliexpress... they're all the same company anyway. Stick with Alibaba and Aliexpress as they are already set up for the western market

You are absolutely right that, only a problem here is many many good things sell only on Taobao, not on Alibaba or Aliexpress (alibaba is for B2B, while Aliexpress is somekind B2C but lack a ton of small sellers), so means combine this 3 you can get everything from China.
So looking for middle company which can handle Taobao goods is a nice way.
