My Journey to $500/Day Using Shopify.

I'm not and I wasn't aware that AliExpress had a Shopify plugin. I'll definitely have to look into this as it may expedite some of my tasks.

I'm absolutely killing it now though!! Attached is my latest dashboard screenshots of orders.

Holy jama lama those sales!

Update: I've really had no time at all to update and been waaaaayyy too busy to be on here. But I'm doing well still and just recently started implementing Pinterest ads. I'm soon starting a Wanelo store as well. I just need to get a bit better at Facebook ads and getting my CPC lower (ideally below $0.15/cpc).

Here's my sales screenshot attached. And yes, that's $137,800 in sales for the last 3 months. It's authentic, it's real and if you don't believe it I don't really care lol. I'm not selling anything or pitching anything and have no reason to fake it.

Pfft dude sorry I'm spamming but I'm just reading through the pages and this sales got all my intestines in knots... I hope I could reach that sales as well .. now i feel sad

These shout-outers are getting more expensive. I asked one user to do a shoutout for my product - she had 50k followers and I was shocked when she said she'd do it for $200.. jaw-dropping

They're getting absolutely ridiculous and have been since about August of 2016. Most are totally off when telling people how much they do a shout out for. A good tool to help in gauging how much someone's social profiles are worth is Social Blue Book...Google it. I don't do any influencer campaigns or shoutouts etc. Big waste of my time to have some bimbo with a rack the size of watermelons and 100K followers message back and tell me that her going rate is like $500. Wtf?! Going rate?? I'm trying to do business, I have 0% interest in banging you! It's out of control. They all have an over-inflated sense of worth and when you tell them it's not worth it they get mad a lot of times, it's an ego shot. But it's all business. I prefer to pump in traffic via ADs because at least that way it's measurable and can be scaled. Influencer campaigns work well for people with not a lot of capital or a ton of capital. It's really hard to gather a strategy for that route. But these are all my opinions, there's plenty of ppl killing it doing this method and kudos to them...I simply don't have the patience and perseverance to continuously message people.

Perseverance with your website and working smart does wonders. Testing strategies you read about here is also helpful. Don't give up though.

great job. may I ask how do you find popular products?

If you don't know what the popular items are then your store is in the wrong niche. Stick to what you know as I mentioned previously. Don't you have any hobbies or interests that are parlayed into the niche you have a Shopify store in?? You've gotta know what's popular in that niche then. If you cannot figure out what's popular then that's a glaring red indicator you've choose the wrong niche.

But - I will say that once you're in a niche that you know well, it will take some time to test which products are good and that people like. It's really no different than split testing a squeeze page. Different color palettes get higher conversions than others. Same idea should be applied to your website. Not every product will be a good seller. I've got hundreds of products I've NEVER sold, but they're on the website and add to the overall inventory for someone to browse through to pick and choose what they do/don't like. Once you find you're good selling items, just maybe keep adding products of those but maybe in different styles, colors etc. Create ADs that target those particular good selling products etc etc.

I'm about to start a new push for ad sales here very soon so I can climb back up to the $55k-$65K sales months I was having. It's all doable. Just need to be smart getting there this time. As you all know $100k/mo. is the number I'm still aiming for and not stopping till I hit it. Be careful out there if your business is growing. Always going to be someone who wants to take it all away.

Goal hit in December. Crazy to think it started with trying to make an extra $500/day to hitting $132K in one month.

I'm not updating this story or the thread anymore. I've received a decent amount of PM's and while I do try and transparently reply to everyone, I just don't have the time to get back on replies where you've just started a store and are spending $3.00/day in ADs. I'm not mentoring anyone either so just post any relevant Q's here and I'll get back sometime. I am on this site a lot...but I'm here researching and reading. I'm no expert and have learned a ton from a lot of you, thank you all.

hei Andrew, inspiring story and hustle, i registered on this site because of you ;)
Thank you for all the info you provided up to this point!
I have 1 question (for now, probably :D), i see your average order is for around 100$, how do you handle customs with dropshipping from ali on orders over 25-30$ (which i heard is the limit under which orders don't get held up in customs)?
Thank you!

I don't dropship. I order products, ship them all to myself, re-package and then ship out from our office in the USA. Dropshipping (in my opinion) kills your businesses value. A customer will love the deal they get when they un-package your order and see it was shipped from somewhere in the USA and doesn't come with any Chinese writing on it.

If you're dropshipping and it's showing up in packaging that's beat to shit with Chinese writing all over it etc.; customers kinda feel like they just got duped into buying some over-priced Chinese crap that they could've probably ordered themselves. The wow-factor is different when it doesn't arrive with any of the tell tale signs of imported, cheap goods.

Let's be real...there are TONS of people that are discovering what they can buy on AliXpress and all these methods (just like any other business model) are beginning to slightly become outdated because people are becoming more aware that they can order this stuff themselves. AliXpress was really cool when not many people exactly knew about it and/or didn't trust it because it was very foreign seeming.

Few questions:
1. How much budget do I need to start the same?
2. Do you buy manually from Aliexpress or shopify does? I have no express with this software.
3. Is Wecoomerce similar to shopify?
4. Do I need to sell high price items? ( more than $ 20 ) or this can work with cheap stuff( under $ 5). I ask becasue shipping cost at least $ 10 per item.
5. Did you try Adword or FB ads are better?

How to advertise the product on instagram account? Link in bio? Photo + thematic link to the store? product image + link?

Impressive journey, well done !

You seem to have a high margin on your products.

If you order and deliver to you, you repack and reship those products could you tell us the % it represents according to the +- $100 price product by doing this?

How do you handle the time delivery, did you write it somewhere on your website,so it will take like 10-15 days (or more idk) to receive the goods ?

Thanks for all your answers and tips !

1.) whatever you're comfortable in losing in the beginning. You will burn A LOT of cash until you get it right.
2.) manually purchase from Ali.
3.) I prefer Shopify greatly
4.) sell what you know. Be creative!
5.) i never used AdWords. Only FB/IG ADs, Pinterest and WANELO.

Lol. You can advertise directly on IG through Facebooks Power Editor.

The big question. What is your CPC and how do you handle the fake traffic that facebook sends you. Do you do retargeting?
