My Journey to $500/Day Using Shopify.

Just a small update. I'm on day 63 since launching my Shopify site. Things are still going pretty well over here. I've noticed that it seems like since I've removed the TAXES & SHIPPING from the website that I've been getting more sales. I removed them on Monday. I will need to give it a little more time though to really see.

I'm still using the Instagram ADs and spending $20/day on them. I'm posting a few times daily on IG as well. Nothing crazy time consuming though. I'm only running 1 ad set but about to ad another set and then increase the daily ADs spent to $30/day on IG.

I added an email capture pop up and have gained about 190 emails to the list in about a 25 days since adding too. Did my first e-blast last night but didn't get any sales from it. The list only has 253 contacts on it though and only about 40+ opened the e-blast. That's all for now!

Definitely some nice updates, getting some good days lately, eh?
$200+ yesterday, congrats! Keep it up
Just a quick question, what's your follower count gone up to since you started this
I remember you had 1k followers in beginning, what is total now?

How do you deal with having multiple items from different vendors? What do you do when somebody orders couple of items from separate vendors?

Thanks man. I'm at around 1,700 Followers now.

Well, I just find the products for the best price and has FREE shipping. I ALWAYS look for vendors who use ePacket shipping because the shipping takes 10-15 days. AVOID CHINA POST MAIL AT ALL COSTS! The turnaround time can be 15-40 days and in most cases is around 35-40! I only order items via CHINA POST if I cannot find the product anywhere else. It's a last resort basically. But I always let the customer know ahead of time that the item is back-ordered and will be taking a bit more time to get shipped out than the other products.

Ordering different products from different vendors is super easy though, especially if you're familiar with how to search and the verbiage to use when searching.

Subed to your journey, I do same thing but with free traffic from Facebook groups. Good luck with your journey!

Cool man thanks. Hopefully I can spread some help and tips to other people on here. I've literally got my entire businesses and income from this website and reading other peoples money making ideas etc and then tweaking them to suit myself. I did $150K in business in 2015 (very very proud of that). And I wouldn't have ANY of that if I hadn't joined this board...real talk!

I guesstimate that 85% of the people who are unsuccessful at making money online from here are the ones who take peoples ideas word for word and duplicate them. They often always lack that specific person "secret sauce" to how they earned so they're duplicating a somewhat incomplete model. Add that along with the fact that yes, there are a lot of lazy people that browse these posts expecting to make a quick buck. Plus many others just lose interest and their businesses don't grow and flatline.

Gotta put in the hardwork in the beginning to get things good and right and then you have to persevere. Just stay the course...money WILL come.

Hello all. Just an update on my end. I made a much better Instagram AD with another pretty hot item and I also started running that particular AD on Jan. 22. I just raised my Instagram ADs budget to $40/day as well on Jan. 31.

I think it's safe to say that I'm damn near about to hit my target goal soon of making $500/day on Shopify. I feel lucky to an extent...like when I first set out to do this it just seemed very daunting. But I'll be damned if there isn't a TON of money being spent daily on Ecomm sites!!! Anyways, I'm attaching a screenshot of my Shopify dashboard too.

I'm still posting the same amount on Instagram. About 3-6x per day randomly. I'm also growing my email opt-in list a lot every day by anywhere from 10-20 people! This sh*t can be done though as you've all seen on my short journey itself.

Hi Andrew.

Good Journey so far, I am also looking into doing something similar with Aliexpress.

So you get the items sent to you first, then you put it in your own packaging. Is this packaging branded, and designed professionally? Or just a plain normal postal packet?

Have you registered as a business?

What do you have on your site now to overcome people complaining about shipping?

Are you using the aliexpress plugin available on Shopify? Or have you set up the products completely manually, and will manually fill out the orders on the aliexpress site?

Thanks Bro!

Yes. I have all items shipped directly to me 1st. Then I re-package it all, remove any of the Chinese inserts etc. that may come with the items and ship it out to the customers. I use my own custom branding. Custom stickers, custom packing tape etc. I make it look as good as possible. I feel like this is very important. If people feel like they're purchasing items that are expensive and I ship it them in ratty packaging then it devalues my products and store. VERY IMPORTANT!

Have you registered as a business?

Of course.

What do you have on your site now to overcome people complaining about shipping?

I used to charge for shipping anywhere from $8.50 - $17.50. I removed all shipping costs and taxes and noticed a VERY LARGE spike in orders. Additionally, this also helps me in overcoming peoples shipping complaints. I still get emails from people who are asking why it's taking so long etc. but I always reply that we do our best to ship out ASAP! I also have it in bold in red font on my order confirmation to allow 2-4 weeks for shipping. I reference that as well when people email me about shipping. I also include a line around the terms of "most customers don't mind waiting 2-4 weeks for their package since the shipping is ALWAYS free with us.". I mean...you can't really bitch at a company who's not charging you for shipping. Back when I was charging for shipping, I had a TON of over-demanding people emailing me.

I've found that as long as you communicate with your customers, everything is usually always all good and workable. It's when you don't talk to them etc. is when they get very rude, combative and unable to deal with. This is also VERY IMPORTANT imo.

Are you using the aliexpress plugin available on Shopify? Or have you set up the products completely manually, and will manually fill out the orders on the aliexpress site?

I'm not and I wasn't aware that AliExpress had a Shopify plugin. I'll definitely have to look into this as it may expedite some of my tasks.

I'm absolutely killing it now though!! Attached is my latest dashboard screenshots of orders.

Wow that's amazing, I'm doing something similar with a mix of aliexpress and higher end wholesalers on my shopify store. I'm curious how did you get so much traffic if you only have 2000 people following you on instagram?
And did you learn through BHW how to do the instagram ads, I'm about to do them soon, hopefully it won't be a complete failure like fb ads were for me.

Those are some very impressive numbers. Congrats buddy. Are you still offering 500 products, or are you focusing more on best sellers?

That's how its done! Work on that SEO and kill it even more.

I did start doing a little bit of SEO but Shopify does have some limitations for on-site SEO.

I'm doing Instagram ADs bro. No. Instagram ADs are too new to be on here (least I haven't seen them). They're on Facebooks ADs platform. They're really not that hard to do at all though. Hopefully your AD is a failure though, because that's the only way you'll learn how to do it the right way (of course with studying or reading how to do it right the 1st time). I think everyone on here reads someone elses journey, gets inspired and tries to duplicate it with their own twist, just to slightly fail and then keep working at it until it's right. Then it's their new method and journey that they post about and other people try it etc etc. Good luck brother!

Thanks buddy. I'm actually adding new products all the time to the website. Sometimes I sell the most absolute random shit. I almost want to call the bnuyer and be like "Are you sure you want to buy this??" Like I'm being Punk'd or something lol.

OP your journey has inspired me ive done some research and seen the opportunity here!

It appears isntagram ads are the way to go, i recently started my shopify journey and i was promoting it via just with my instagram account and getting free shoutouts for pages with 20k-50k followers getting 40-50 unique visitors a day, only sold 3 items in 3 weeks.

i gave up on it and closed my store, but as i said it looks like instagram ads are a thing of the future, I just got an ein number and found a supplier that can get drones, cameras and other shit, they can a canon camera that was listed for $1300 on amazon and they were selling it for $700.

I could make a camera niched site and target photography niche on instagram and sell cameras, thats just can idea, but the thoughts are endless.

No one post about isntagram ads, i wanted to try them but figuring they'd be expensive never even looked into it, but if your only paying $40 a day and selling 3k worth of product in a day, thats impressive, i noticed your orders arent high though, which means your selling an expensive item.

awesome thread mate i need some tips can you tell me

Nice man, don't give up. The difference between someone who succeeds and fails is just their level of perseverance. Keep with it. Try different things. You'll find traction somewhere and get the hang of it eventually. I promise! My items aren't too expensive but they aren't cheap little $9.00 items either.

Shoot me a private message and I'll do what I can. That goes for everyone else as well. Just shoot me private messages and I'll help where I can but I can't walk you through the entire process etc.

Okay, well. I've just finished my journey. I don't really know what else to post on here as this is my first journey from beginning to end. I've well surpassed my original goal of $500/day and am on track to do some pretty crazy numbers. I attached my screenshot just now that I took. You can see that I'm kind of averaging out right now at about $1,250/day.

So...I guess that's it on this journey. I do think I will make a new journey thread though.

That journey thread will be titled: My Journey to $100K/month Using Shopify!

I do think I'll be able to do that as well, just a matter of time. Hopefully I keep all my momentum! Cheers friends and good luck to all of you in your own journeys...DON'T GIVE UP!!!

So, If I understood correctly :
- You order product on Aliexpress with your adress
- You do a better packaging
- You send the item to your customer

I've a question, have you a stock of all your items ?
If not, how do you do to don't have peoples asking for refund due to the delivrery time (Receive, Repackaging, resend)

Good job for your succes and continue to grow your business
