How to Promote Free E-book

I have been working on a e-book I am going to promote for free, on a website I have created, with a content locker+cpa. where would be some good places to promote this to drive traffic to it. It is an old method, that still works, and a lot of people brand new to internet marketing will be happy to have it. The only problem I have is where would I promote it, so far I have youtube, classifieds, and maybe some shoutouts on fanpages. I am wondering what would be some good forums I could promote it at. Please chime in guys, and let me know if this is a good idea, or a terrible idea. Any help you can give me would be great.

Buy some Instagram shoutouts from luxury pages etc. They will make a post about your product and add a link to their bio. What comes to the monetization I think the content locking looks super spammy. Have you considered taking the customers email and monetize through it? That's the most common way.

Old method that still works. That most of the world doesn't know, I wont be promoting it to people on here lol, trying to promote it to mainstream citizens and younger generations. Just wondering where some good places would be to promote it. You haven't missed anything I should have provided more information, I appreciate any input you have about the subject.

Personally i would have a landing page and capture email addresses, you can then market to later. Most " Ordinary " people don't know about disposable email addresses that IMers use
