Is it REALLY possible to rank without Blackhat SEO?

I'm about to invest into an affiliate Amazon site, I know building PBN/2.0's towards the website will get it ranked but only for so long. I love the idea of keeping the site for many years and ranking it with whitehat methods though.

I've read guides about reaching out and gaining niche related links, and writing really awesome articles and trying to get them viral. Sounds great but what's the chances of it happening with a house hold product for example lol!

Is anyone ranking without BH methods? and if so could you please pass on some useful information/resources to me so I can learn too. I'd really appreciate it.

Honestly I didn't know that some of these methods are black hat until I went somewhere else. Then I was like "Wtf?"

Irregardless, I am very, very into content distribution, like infographics, guest posts, outreach, etc. You may not think it works for trivial things like household cleaning products, but with a twist you can make it work with literally anything.

I actually know of a guy who has been ranking an amazon site for the past two years using primarily PBN links, I think it's still possible to get long-term results with blackhat techniques

Yes, you can pretty much get a site alive and findable on the SERPs, but if you wanna go the extra step you'll need to do something the others don't.

It's a competitive field. Why would you rank higher than the other 9 pages on page 1? That's the question in SEO and in competition in general.

Truth be told, any type of backlinks built by yourself to push your website in serps is blackhat, as to google's guide lines.. so you`re never safe

IMHO ranking an Amazon product (or affiliate products in general) without black hat methods is impossible. Why? Well it's quite simple, why would any one on web write about site that has 10-20-50 products on it, obviously affiliate website and made a reviews about it, mention those products linked to them etc... Whoever researched those products he can link straight to Amazon or manufacturer, right? So, to me, it makes no sense at all to naturally rank affiliate websites without using any type of black hat methods.

Unless you are doing some stuff like getting toaster (from Amazon), then putting toaster into microwave (from Amazon) to make scrambled eggs (from Amazon) with toast (from Amazon) and some Jiff (from Amazon) all together at once, while promoting every single item used from Amazon as affiliate. That might be white hat method and interesting to the public and might get a lot of links/mentions/social media attention.

Interesting, yes well I'm not exactly an expert on anything to do with SEO, but I always thought if using PBN'S its a short game, I'd love to start ranking without relying on them and get my websites to stick for ever, or as long as I possibly can, without the worry of G coming along eventually and deindexing them.

Of course it works, but you need more money - like if you want a decent info graphic that's got a chance of going viral you need $400-$500 maybe.

Same if you want content that's gonna go viral - you need journalist quality content, not the same stuff that everyone else is buying.

I understand yes. The types of niches I'll be ranking will only have the high authority sites such as Amazon themselves, eBay etc. They don't optimize anchors for the keywords whatsoever, nothing in the titles, onpage either so based on what I've read it could be possible. IDK, man I mean there's a part of me that doesn't agree and tells me just use the easy approach of course.

Any keywords I opt for never have any review /affiliate sites ranked/ranking (I always check this, but not to say they won't popup eventuality). It's only the authority sites but they never optimize for my keywords (like I mentioned above).

Yeah love the idea of getting it viral, never managed to succeed before getting anything viral, so trying it now with say a kitchen appliance sounds a little far fetched lol!

Yeah that will be a good test actually just sit back and see what happens, even adding 2.0's might look a bit spammy as well which is something that concerns me. I don't have time to build them up myself right now either so would need to outsource it.
