How to use GSA properly, need help

Why bother with such a slow drip feeding to tier 2? It's just bookmarks really.

Why bother with such a slow drip feeding to tier 2? It's just bookmarks really.

I thought that bookmarks are not spammy and can have good effects in the long run. I guess there are hundreds of high quality social bookmarking domains to use and I have thousands of inner pages. So in the long run, I thought that it can have an acceptable positive effect on rankings and backlink profile (diversity).

Of course I assume that I can automate it (e.g. unique descriptions for bookmarks). By the way, it does not need to be bookmarks only, I am willing to use any non-spammy methods provided by the tool. But I don't think that I will use any other features directly on my money website. Other features can be used for tier 1 and 2.

Honestly, I did not study or test GSA yet. So things I said may be unpractical. ;)

Social bookmarks are definitely not a links which will benefit you on the long run really. :)

I am sorry to ruin anyones party, but you are a bit late with the GSA to be honest. Like 2 years late basically.

I was ranking sites with it until Penguin 4 the back end of last year until my method was patched out, I am still trying to develop a new one. It's a tool, the tool does as the user tells it. Just because one method has been patched out does not mean I'm going to stop using it.

What about using social bookmarking and similar features of GSA in drip feed mode for a forum? If I build one social bookmark per URL per day, I assume that I can see long term positive effects. I did not try this. Just asking.

Firstly SER has close to no social bookmark targets worth your time. I think that you maybe getting a little confused with how people use social bookmarks for long term effects. The basis is to leak traffic with a high quality share, not an automated post. I know a few people who use automated social bookmarking in their indexing process but thats about it.

Of course it's a tool and does what we tell it to do, but unless you have tons of previous experience, know what you are doing, have patience to develop a method and tons of luck to make it work, you will not succeed with it. I also doubt that you have managed to rank anything else than 0 competition long tails, possibly on parasites as money sites, but I may be wrong of course. For someone who has zero prior experience with GSA and, with all due respect, almost zero with SEO, the GSA is definitely not something to start with now. Same goes for sape for example. SEO is evolving every single day and if someone comes too late to the party, then I am sorry, it's not worth it.

It's as if you came to the actual party at 1am, when everyone else already had fun and you are only one sober. Will you get drunk to catch up? You may, but you will not have too much fun and you will have a hangover in the morning, so is it worth it? Nah.

What happened to sites that used GSA heavily when the GSA patch is released? Did they lose rankings?

I don't understand this. I bought many popular services here (150+ USD ones too). People seem to pay for spammy links. I saw many types of links: web profiles, URLs on image sharing sites, social bookmarks etc. So methods they used are not much different than social bookmarks. Is web profile better than social bookmark? I think bookmark is much less spammy. It is just another type of non-centextual link. It is not as powerful as contextual links but it is still a link. Why do you underestimate it? I don't know how you build your links but I don't see many choices.

By the way, I am talking about links from sites like del.icio.us, Reddit (lower quality ones). I hope that you are not talking about social networks.

As I said, I did not check GSA social bookmarks yet. It is really strange to hear that it does not support many social bookmarking sites/platforms.

Not sure if you are just knocking SER and SAPE to leave PBNs on the table as you offer a PBN "service" or if you are actually clueless. By your logic noone should ever get into SEO because they are behind the curve.

Also they maybe what you class as 0 competition, they maybe what you class as very tough keywords, tbh I couldent care less. I go for PROFITABLE keywords. I see no reason in spending $990 a month on stuff to rank for a site that brings in $1000 a month leaving $10 profit just so you can say you ranked a hard comp keyword, I don't have time for that I want money. Also I tried parasites in the past but I have been 100% on my own brand new fresh domains for years now.

It was just a penguin update, it didnt target SER specifically. Yea they lost rankings and traffic.

I think you misunderstand what SER actually does, it posts to content management systems, not bespoke sites. Things like Reddit and delicious run bespoke themes to my knowledge. SER is unable to post to them, it posts to social bookmark CMS' such as Pligg.

Basically think of wordpress, it is a content management system that many people can download and run on their domain, SER has a script that can post to that particular content management system.

It does have a handful of native Web 2.0 but they are a total waste of time in my opinion.

No, I am knocking Sape and Ser, because they are almost done and I would ask you to keep the civil tone here. I am not a cunt and I won't be writing shit just to promote my "service". I've been using both for years, same goes for many people here on the forum and there is only a small percentage of people who can successfuly use it. As I said, it comes down to luck, testing, experience and so on. And no, by my logic, you should start with something that is currently working and master and benefit from it while you can, not pointlessly handicap yourself with stuff that's been barely working for a year or two, just because you already own it. The time he will dedicate to learning how to even use GSA, since he has never even set up a campaign, will cost much more than the license cost.

Well, that was some clarification on that keyword competition, now the OP is definitely wiser on what he can expect. I also see no reason to spend $200 a month on GSA to make 5x half decent tier 2 blasts which won't work and never rank a money site on tier 1, because he will most likely screw it, when you can outsource that stuff for $10. And that's exactly what will happen if he decides to go this way. I would like to ask OP to give us an update in a few months, how well he fared with GSA and I will gladly just write "I told you so".

Yeh and by the way, it's not that you either use GSA or outsource from marketplace. :)

Edit: And you also admitted, that GSA hasn't done crap all since Penguin update, which was 3 months ago. So if you haven't figured out, with all your experience, what chances does OP have? Months of testing, hundreds of dollars spent, hours of time spent. It simply cannot be justified.

I can guess what it does without using the tool. I have some degrees in computer science :) Reddit was not the perfect example. Just wanted to be sure that we are talking about the same thing.

So, it looks like you are not using regular sources of backlinks. What do you use to gain backlinks? Do you only use your own PBN?

Asks to keep it civil only to say shit and cunt in the next sentence lol.

You literally go from "most likely" to "exactly" within a sentence without knowing the OPs methodology or logical process.

No idea what your trying to say here, any chance you could rephrase?

SER supports like 20 different platforms, each of them have a bunch of engines. I still use SER each day, I just dont use it for Web 2.0s as the engines are a waste of time in my opinion.

By "Civil" I meant not attacking the other side verbally. The fact that I just curse all over the place has nothing to do with the civility of the discussion IMO.

Yeh, I changed it half way. I am sticking with "exactly" though, unless some miracle happens.

I meant, that there are other options than just use the marketplace or use the GSA. I am not a huge fan of marketplace services for link building.

I had been using GSA ever since it came out. I alone have 3 licenses, so please, don't patronize me. :)

Also, "ranking" longtail keyword on 30th - 40th position is no ranking at all. And for $200 a month, which is a considerable price for a newbie like OP, you are better off with bought links for the tier 2. And I can assure you, that unless you are buying super massive shit links, then they are not powered by GSA.

Yeh and you can get a GSA blast for what, $10, $20 tops here? For $200 a month which you would spend on it, you can rather get 10-20 outsourced blasts and don't even have to put in work to do it correctly. Makes absolutely no sense to spend money on doing the GSA link building yourself. Whether effect or cost wise.

You claim that SER links have no juice, I point out that they get my T1s ranking for long tail keywords, you say it doesn't matter. It's kind of patronizing to move the goal posts. :)

The SER packages being sold here and elsewhere are mostly garbage. The cheap PBN posts being sold here are, from what I've tested, entirely garbage. It's cheaper and more effective to learn SER.

Ok. I am asking again. What do you use? :) Since the title of this thread is "How to use GSA properly, need help", could you explain your GSA method?
Or more specifically, which features of GSA would you use for ranking very low competitive long tail keywords in a scalable way? (using drip feeding and without spamming)
I thought using social bookmarks but you said that it is useless for ranking. So what do you do with GSA for ranking?

Thanks in advance for tips ;) (trying to be civil)

No mate, you said they are ranking, I told you, that #30 - #40 for no competition keyword is not "ranking". "Ranking" is, when the stuff brings you traffic. How are you going to push those keywords further?

And yep, I agree with stuff being garbage, that's why I told OP to use it only for tier 2 purposes. Sure, you will get more quality if you invest more and do it yourself, but that brings us to my point, which is, that in my opinion, it's not worth learning the ropes of GSA nowadays. That time can be spent more effectivelly, especially for a person who is just starting with SEO. By the end of the day, I am sure I will have to repeat it at least 5 more times.

I think just like you about services here. It is better to do it yourself in a custom way. And as Nargil said, it will take more time and money. But I think it is safer and a better long term strategy.

I have dropped everything in SER other than articles, social networks and wikis right now. I have some tests going with forums right now to see how they do too. I already said in the thread penguin 4 slapped my method so I am developing a new one.

Seems like you misunderstood or didn't read segments of my post. Those sites at 30-40 are not for no competition keywords, they are for competitive longtails in my niche. They are also T1s, so I'm not planning to get traffic, I'm simply using the rankings to measure whether they've got any juice / relevance, as I and many others always have for our T1s.

The second part is your opinion, and while you're entitled to it I think you're wrong and have given plenty of evidence for why. :)

It will take more time, it will not take more money. You are right that's safer and better, and you will largely be able to figure out what to do by reading Shaun's blog :)

Ah that's what you meant. Ok, I am taking that part back. :)

Regarding the other part, I think I provided enough reasons as well. Then again, we are still arguing just for the OP's sake anyway.
