Starting SEO... How to build backlinks?

Hello, I plan to start doing seo for some long tail low-medium competition keywords and as far as I have learned on this forum all I need to do is to have good onpage SEO and to build backlinks.
As for onpage I think that I know a lot, the second part of it is backlinks and I want to ask you how can I build them?

I usually never pay attention to that. I just keep building links. They will eventually index

Web 2.0's are a good place to start. I also like to do niche-related blog comments to diversify anchor text ratios. Then look into guest posts and somewhere down the line maybe look into PBN's.

That's impossible to guarantee and there's many factors which are going to influence your rankings.

3. you need to write a good comment to get the backlinks. Most of them are no follow, but they will help you gain trust from Search Engine and index your post.
4. Contact to other bloggers for backlinks (guest post, donation)
5. Build backlinks from high metrics site which is relevant to your category.
6. Make video and submit to Youtube
7. Make PDF and submit to Slideshare and other document sharing sites.
