Yeah just start a fresh account and set everything up, start posting some nice content.
Also do a search for the hashtag #FollowBack. That should get you started nicelyThat's what I did in the very beginning and it helped get me started.
I look at it this way, if I had known about this IFTTT thing back when I started this particular account, I would have been doing it back then.
I agree with the idea of 5-10 accounts who doesn't tweet a lot. Preferrably with images and/or videos - that get's much more engagement. And even more better content mixed with humour.Guys, here is an alternative applet which does exactly the same thing, but it has configuration with syntax what to put in the retweet message:
https://ifttt.com/applets/212493p-auto-retweet
For example, you can remove "RT Username" syntax, and probably add some hashtags. Haven't checked properly myself yet.
It doesn't seem to be retweeting pics/videos too well either. But there is a syntax "embed tweet", which I want to try and see if it does the job.
I also think, that one of the good ways to run this thing is to load about 5-10 accounts with moderate following and that don't tweet very often, just few tweets a day. This way your account will look legit as if you are retweeting decent stuff from different people.

I tried different IFTT syntax'es but they do not work as expected, sometimes RT is added by backend even though I remove it from recipe. Embedded content looks strange on my page so I left with simple REPOST'ing. I am also building my own bot which I can configure to repost only posts with images/videos and maybe only the viral ones (a couple of days old). I found out that reposting other people's viral posts from the past (a couple for days or weeks old) work really well!
Anyway have a good luck with IFTTT and let us know what works best for you![]()
This stuff does work to gain followers. My problem is monetization.
For example I setup (using IFTTT) RSS to Twitter on a sports niche. I setup over 20 accounts with around 120k followers in total.
I tried everything on the monetaztion front: sports betting promos, content locked videos, free videos with adsense locked at header and footer on moible and made very little money. Like $2 per day.
For me, making money on Twitter is extremely difficult using automated processes.
Hi good thread thanks for sharing. I have one question - how did you get image. Here is my setting:@abraguda - It may depend on the user you are tweeting. When I started, I was retweeting a very popular account that did a lot of shout-outs and extra crap, all of that stuff got re-tweeted; none of which made sense for my account. I switched to another user who had steady, relevant tweets, but who didn't add in all the extra bs. All I get is the original tweet text and the image, plus I add in a few hashtags and urls. Have had no issues with this configuration.
Here are my stats ( same account )
