Just thought I would post this screenshot of my Twitter Analytics for the past 28 days.
As you can see I have gained some significant exposure, not to mention 727 new followers and counting, and a 72% increase in total impressions to over 2M isn't too shabby
All I did was to use an IFTTT applet that would RT another Twitter users tweets.
I chose a user who has over 175,000 followers, and who tweets a lot every single day.
This is kind of a slow method to gain followers, but it's rather safe and steady. The nice thing is that these followers are actually engaged in the content, and they want to follow you.
Some of the more seasoned Twitter people here may not bat an eye at this, but am posting this for anyone who doesn't know - who may be looking for a way to build up their twitter accounts steadily, and free of cost.
