Why You Should Open a NICHE Store Instead of General Store

since I see this question so often, I wanted to show you my video about this exact topic: niche store vs. general store.

It seems that many people tend to favor the general one, but my personal experience, as well as the experience of a ton of friends, partners and clients was, that a niche store is often much easier to advertise and scale. You can target much deeper and its easier to identify future products and marketing strategies.

The part that sticks out with me is "trust".

On a big general store like Amazon they earned their trust by being in business for a vey long time. You can go there and search up anything pretty much and trust that you will get your order and not be cheated.

For us peons making stores you will not have that automatic level of trust that is built from years of business and billions of advertising $.

A peon can gain trust by being very specific in their offers (a niche). If the buyer goes to your site and quickly sees that you are the man when it comes to beard oil, he will more than likely trust you.

But if a peon has a general store selling 3 products in 100 different categories, who are you? I automatically do not trust you.

Gaining the buyer's confidence is the difference between full shopping carts that are checked out and abandoned ones.

Yep, they look like shit and I wouldn't trust using my mother in law's credit card on them.

When I see a cohesive, tightly woven store that shouts "I know this", I want to know more about them. I'm a tightwad, but they may end up with my business.
