I collected a few domains before the election one being mrdonaldtrump.net , any surgestions on selling price or ways to create value from the domain.

I was intending keeping the domain for 10 years....

You may have some

issues there.

Why a trademark issue, after all i,m sure many are called mr donald trump, how others choose to use the domain is their choice.

He is uber protective about his name.

You think you can pull it off, give it a run.

I've had trademark issues with big name companies in the past and have lost domains to them yet I still build sites with other TM names as I don't sweat the corporate guys.

But I'd not mess with a man that is soon to be President of the United States and a hard core "go after the guy that is trading on my name".

The risk/reward is just not there.

Donald Trump is a public figure , but not a trademark :) or im blind and dont see such tm registered . Do whatever you want to do with the domain

I hear what your saying, donald trump user's @realdonaldtrump on twitter ,as someone already has the other usernames. He is a human after all and not a product.

Basstrackboats is right,as in why poke at "the man" who has a bigger stick, free publicity maybe. isn't that marketing.

12 years ago I had a misspelling of amazon.com ,being cheeky I rang amazon hq and asked for mr bezos, the person on the line asked me what was it in connection with, I said I owed amezon.com and would like to discuss the sale of.
I was passed through to a answering machine.

a few days later I received a letter in the post from amazon legal citing infringement of their name.I left the subject and choose not to renew the domain months later.

This was in the day where companies had not awoken to the value of domain names.

So I'll hang on to this domain, for publicity sake, the person is after going to be shown in the history books for centuries, there has to be a value no

so he's going to the irish courts to sue me, jesus the press for this, wow better line up me flagging site's that need a boost .

Imagine what team of lawyers can do for a billionaire who just got a bigger budget.

Seems like a risky move. Its definitely taking a chance that if did by chance go wrong be bad to be on the shorter end of the stick

That's great!

I never called any of the companies whose names I used but a few of them are UPS, Fedex, Lands End, Tracker Boats (Check who owns the TM to my username), Google and there are some others from my 8 - 9 years in this business. Although I gave up the particular domain requested by one of those mentioned I still have another variation of it and I'm closing in on 50K in profit for the year from that domain alone.

The only one that caused me to shake in my topsiders was Google as they carry a pretty big stick. There is a thread about my interactions with them somewhere on BHW.

The others; I just gave up the domains.

I'm still using TM domains in my portfolio as they can have real value if you can drive the right kind of traffic to them and if those guys come knocking I'll just find others.

I bought xfactor(mycountryname).com few years back and i got paid from them TM is THExfactor .So all depends how you are going to use the domain . Listen the gurus here - they know better (may be)
