Hello , Great guide and easy to follow thank you very much. Sadly to remove my "store password" i have to pick a plan that starts when the free trial ends but payoneer and wirex don't work for the CC verification, any solution?
So far I have found a few other resources that explain dropshipping on shopify in more detail. Keep in mind one of them is on the shopify blog so they are actuallly encouraging people to use dropshipping, but OPs method is even better. I am working on setting this up now.
This is a reddit thread, about to read it but its from a AMA for a guy who dropshipped.

Here is the shopify blog post detailing how to use it . Also this site has a 30 day trial signup, the official shopify one but the ones people posted earlier seem to be for longer periods.

Im definitley liking the method. Dropshipping is well known but OP has a twist and also explained it well.
nice guide, with easy steps to follow and TAKE ACTION...
cheers
An EPIC post from you again mate
THANKS!
My personal twist: sell your own item.
My personal twist: sell your own item.
Hello. What do you mean with that? Be a reseller from some item without dropshipping? I'll start reselling some items and would like to understand what you are saying.
Great guide. I am aware of the potential behind FBA. I am looking forward to applying this method. When I do, I will create a post detailing my experience.
Hi Nihalsad
Many thanks for the detailed methodology, is your rationale that the free trial on Shopify merely starts to generate some income for you and that at the end of the free trial you then sign up for one of their various monthly plans....or is it that you merely rinse & repeat on further free trials with them to avoid ANY monthly fees?.
Cheers.
Kevin
@nihalsad thanks a lot for this detailed methodology.![]()
Thanks for the guide, man!
Would it make sense to limit 1 free/promo item per customer? Some of this stuff is so light, even 10 of them will still fall under 1 pound? What is to dissuade someone from getting 10 instead of 1 or 2? I understand you will still profit, but not as much. Or am I missing something? Also, it seems shopify will not let someone check out on your store until you select a payment plan?
Thanks again!
This method is old, but still how do you explain to the customers they will have to wait for 1 month for their item and shipping they pay 9.99+
i cant find a way to add discount on my product , i only see paid addon on shopify to add discount on product. how you do that ?
OP,
Would this method work similarly or if not equivalent to wordpress + woocommerce. There is also plugins that allow you import aliexpress items.
Doing some quick calculation, would it not be more cost-effective using wordpress ? And you won't be restrained to the "45 day trial period" in the event you cant find a good product.
Shopify cost $29 USD after the trial period and that notification app you're referring to, which starts at $6.99 USD, bring the base cost up to $35.99 USD a month, adding the $20 USD a day for the Facebook Ads, which is around $600 USD month. If you make let's say 5 usd per item, you will need to sell at least ~100+ items a month or ~3-4+ items a day to break-even. This might be challenging on a 45 day period, unless you found a extremely hot item.
But its quite challenging to sell plush toys, key chains, etc that aren't branded like Game of Thrones etc, because people are motivated to buy something they know like pokemon go, etc. Won't shopify close down your shop for copyright infringement and PayPal limit your account? I guess you just really have to find a good item that people buy.
But my question is how do you personally handle returns? Do you ask the buyer to ship back to the warehouse or to a specific location? What do you do when an item take 30+ days to arrive and customer wants a refund? Do you take the loss or ship another?
