My blog will not rank, maybe I am doing something wrong?

I hope this is in the right place, I am trying to rank a blog. I checked site:domain.com and many results came up. I also looked in wordpress to make sure the posts were being indexed. No matter what I do nothing will get ranked on google. Occasionally something will rank on yahoo or bing for a day or two and fall off. How do I check for a penalty, besides the ways I have looked? Thanks for the help in advanced. I am new to all of this and this is my first post.

what link building did u do ? Competition of the keyword. (Are you trying to rank for weight lose, payday loans )
you can't just write blog post and pray for god.

You can check in your Google Webmaster tools to see if you have any penalties.

We would really need to analyze your traffic stats first as well as understand your method of SEO to identify the issue.

work on seo, get some relevant sites to link to you. It usually takes about 3 months to rank decent anyway

Always focus on Quality that is the Quality writing contents and the Quality backlinks from the niche relevant authority sites. If you are doing the things properly then your site won't get harm and getting the good ranking improvements.

Hi OP,

How old is your domain? Is it new domain?

What's your on-page keyword density?

Have you done any backlinking? If yes, what are they and with what anchors?


You site is obviously indexed, so I doubt it's a penalty.
Im guessing its either too new, or over- (or under) optimized.

Even spun content can be ranked easily on top 100.
So i doubt content quality is the direct cause of OP's problem.
