That's why it's called the GD it will settle down after a couple of weeks depending on how many links you've build. I suggest after it settled down check your rankings and just build new links.

I will usually throw some social signals at my site during the dance, then build some medium quality links(web 2, forum posts, etc...), before pointing a few more PBNs towards my site.

I'll also sometimes throw some social signals then do my links.

I never found this source again. But I know Google has an algorithm where they drop your site on purpose after they notice more links coming in, so that you can't measure A/B testing. Then weeks later it comes back up and the links finally take effect..... I can't find the source for this, but I recall it was one of their patents.
