Wow your tumblr blog seems very successful, mine isn't. Can you give us some tips on how to improve tumblr traffic/follows? Thanks

It may be descriptive in tags. I also have picked my specific niche that i stick to and only post quality content with maximum 2 posts a day so I don't spam the followers timeline. I also designed the colors and and header so it looks like a genuine brand, like the official tumblr of a real camsite. In other words I put some time in branding and design. Another thing I do is not post direct links. Instead I hyperlink random word so that it leads to my whitelable somewhere in the description. I do it so I don't annoy people and do not appear as spammer and they are more likely to repost.

Speaking of reposts my guess is that they are driving the most of exponential growth. Since i get more followers that tend to repost more, and the cycle goes on.

Mostly what I did to my tumblr, the only difference is that my description is somewhat like:


"description about the cam model here"

"whitelabel link"

that's how I do it because my wordpress blog automatically post it to twitter and tumblr. Maybe I have to manually post it to tumblr too. Do you get a lot of leads from Tumblr? I did follow some accounts but no/little follow back.

I actually use tumblr as the initial site and then my posts are automatically posted on twitter and reddit. My reasoning was that I could not find a way to make posts appealing.

At the end I went with :

This for reddit

And this for twitter

Just so that posts look real and not spammy, I tried bunch of ways but when using tags as a content it was looking just terrible. Now I even get subscribers on my subreddit.


At the end Tumblr acts as a final stage for people who come from reddit or twitter and it eventually leads to the whitelable.

I personally went with this:

" [this girl](linked to my whitelable) is doing something interesting. "

I also stay classy and don't use dirty expressions just staying very cool about it.

Ohhhh Gotcha... Same as me, just that my main site is my wordpress site. About reddit i dont get it, i mean i cant understand how to properly use it. Should i join subreddits and then post there or just create my own subreddit and wait for subs?

I don't really. I started to post daily and it just slowly took off, now it is around 150 new followers daily and rising, quite fast actually, last month i got total of 900 followers, and this month it is 1500

I still have connected twitter and reddit through ifttt.com so every time i post on tumblr i get posts on all 3 networks but only tumblr is really getting success.
