It really depends on several factors. I will try to number them:

1. Quality of your links, are they do-follow or non-follow? Number of links compared with your competitors and Domain and Page Authority. Check Ahrefs .com to obtain those metrics.
2. Are you publishing content regularly? One of the most common mistakes is to publish content in batches. Create content regularly will increase your SERP.
3. Do you have Sitemaps? Make you all your pages are indexed by Google. You can find out this in the Google Search Console.
4. Niche you are working on. If it’s very competitive niche (health or money for example), you will need much more than a bit of linking.

You will need a solid strategy to follow in order to increase your ranking a position in page 1.

So you are just assuming here two things:

1. Digital Point has bullshit threads (based on your previous comment), which I can understand, this is just an opinion. I don't argue on that.

2. This post provides zero value. Perhaps it provides zero value for you, but not everybody knows this facts. And yes, there is plenty of information talking about this out there, but sometimes reading it in a forum as a fresh thread can encourage people to take action.

If wikipedia stop publishing new articles, will the old articles lose their rankings, even if they have quality content and keep obtaining new links?
