[own company] ISP business

Hello BHW forum.

I want to start my own ISP business.
i just know i have to get a license and a bandwith provier..
i can manage them also.
But in discussion of NOC,Technician,Server Configuration,Devices,Switch,Router,WAP i dont have sufficient knowledge.

I am requesting the seniors who have these knowledge and also run own ISP......please share some knowledge and guide me to right way....
Specially i need technical knowledge,i can study if anyone provide me some links.

i am waiting for someone who can help me out...

It sounds like you could only be benefit in an administrative position in a business you want to start. From your post, you have no technical experience in a business youre going to have to lay out a lot of money on.

I want to start this business there are no ISP in my area.and only 2 cellular provider have 3G service...so high speed internet is really a good target i think. as i feel for it in this area.

and thats the value high speed broadband

I am studying CSE...but only half a way......
i contacted with a IIG,IGW licensed company,,,,and the marketing manager it is possible for me in my rural area as an ISP..he told me about the process....but i want to handle the technical part as it will need minimum 2 engineers.....i know a ISP fonder who handles himself that part.....so i asked for which topics and area should i study and become expert to run my own ISP business

No offence mate but your posts suggest you have no business trying to start up as an ISP.

Save yourself a lot of time, stress and money and do something else. Starting out in such a big undertaking without any prior experience or knowledge is a recipe for huge amounts of debt

You mean there is no option at all? So there is no cabling? Or you just mean there is no isp that is based locally?

if i start this i will be the only provider.also i can find about 100+ subscriber if i can give them at a flexible rate...and if i can manage wifi about radius 1km range.then i can find 1000+ subscriber surely

yeah i know that....my aim is that if i buy 10-15 mbps dedicated and supply unlimited shared ....my cost will be 10$ per mbps.....then i think i can profit.....if i can manage NOC and other terms myself...also if i can manage WIFI then its really a idea for business in my area.....

so i need knowledge of networking...and tricks.....
if you can provide me the base topics then that will be really helpful

OK, and by the sounds of it then you are going to be poviding mobile broadband then? The big issue I was thinking was the fact that you would need infrastructure (Cabling). But if you are intending to provide mobile broadband its a different story.

I remember a few years back there was a guy near to where I live (In the UK) that was providing mobile broadband. He had a high powered wireless transmiter in his house and he provided broadband to his local neighbourhood via wireless. This was back at a time where broadband had just launched in the UK and companies like PIPEX were charging a fortune for it, so this guy done pretty well.

Maybe if broadband is under-developed where you are then you are in the same sort of position now?

you need small ISP or big ISP..?
if you only need cover internet in your area, just build 1 tower for AP..
research wireless adaptor like nanobeam to share wifi broadband.. buy 2,4Ghz to cover all device in your small area.
if you need more than 1 Km, use 5G for AP and relay and re-share again with 2,4G...
you will need mikrotik to handle your bandwith and client.
if you don't know anything, just hire enginer to setup all in.. to maintenance you can do it if you want to learn..

I want to start it in my location. In Bangladesh.....under my own license....

So,You should go first BTCL office.This is the head office for internet sharing license.It situated in Savar,Dhaka(Used Google).You need to make an application.They will provide internet connection to you.It is Similar to open a sub network.You need to buy Internet service from their and you should sell connection with your chosen price.

Such as-
You bought 512 Kbps package from them for 200 BDT only.Then You should sell it for 600-700 BDT.Here 400-500 BDT is your profit.

One man can not be an expert in all fields. For ISP management a team is required, if you are not ready to assemble and pay such a team, than you are not ready to be an ISP provider.

Yeah i am ready for it..but my target is first only my local area..so i think i dont need more than 2 people to handle all thing if i can manage to start wifi broadband ....

Yeah you are right. i want to start with my local area only....
and yes for that broadband..i want to provide wireless broadband......
