What is a good keyword density

I have seen many articles claiming that it is good to have a keyword density of 3 to 4 percent and then some claiming it doesn't matter much and that some sites rank with none of the keywords they rank for on the page. I don't like to stuff keywords in my posts because i use long tail keywords and they don't sound natural in the posts. What keyword density gives me the best chance to rank? thanks in advance.

i use the yoast plugin, it tells you the kw density so you can adjust as you go, so much easier than all the confusing so called advice. I agree that one says one thing and another says something else

Simply instal the yoast SEO. It will give you the answer. Keyword density should be below 2 for 500 words page. Maximum 4 is fine for 1000 words.

You just need the exact keyword in URL/domain, H1/h2 and 1 paragraph, then use synonyms/related keywords.

Yes, that is a better figure.

There are also other factors which bump up the keyword density too such as the words in the main navigation menu, sidebar links, footer links, categories, tags and related article widgets.

OP: Go into Google, find the top 10-20 for your major keywords and calculate their density. Find the sites that are most similar to yours and average out what they are doing. Let that be your starting spot.

Let Assume the word “Google” present 2 times on the html document. So, the Optimal Word Density calculated from below formula,

We usually shoot for 3-5% keyword density of specific long tail keyword phrases we want to rank for. Shoot some backlinks out and watch them rise. I personally haven't tried anything less so I cannot say if it's more effective, however it works. Be sure you have other on page seo as well.
