Website ideas?

I have only two ideas. Automated flash gaming site that embeds flash games, or a music video streaming (youtube clone) site that embeds videos from other sites.
I don't know which to choose? Will they make any money? Working for Humanatic to cover cost of server and software needed. I can make at the lease 10$ a week with just that.

It can make money. But will it make money for you? That depends on your marketing skills.
There are free scripts/templates floating around for flash game sites and video streaming sites.
If you're knowledgeable with setting up websites, you can set them up in a day.
My tip for flash game sites is kids don't have money, so keep that in mind for what offers you chose to promote on it.

Both will need a lot of work and promotion. Given the choice i wouldn't bother with the flash game site, its more hassle than its worth for a number of reasons.

Most people won't be able to see your flashing games because of Adblocker (or Ghostery).

The music site could be reported. And anything can happen.

I did know that many kids use adblock. I also thought that a music site is legal so long as your not hosting. I'm just embedding them from youtube. Pretty much I'm just a search engine.

Get a traffic generation and monetization strategy in mind before setting the site up. See what competition in both niches are doing to get ideas, or just read around the forum.

Kids use pappa or mamma's computers. And papa and mama already got their adblocker switched on.

This could work out good if you're able to promote it the right way!

Here's an idea.
1)Grab hot/trending music videos from youtube.
2)Embed them on your site
3)Download the songs mp3
4)Put the file behind a content lock.
5)Put a big link under each video for the mp3 file download which links to your content locker.

i've seen people doing this for new albums that just dropped (remember kanye west the life of pablo in the news?) but i don't see why you can't twist it and apply it to new music videos. if it's viral and you can piggy back off that traffic, it should be easy money.

5)Put a big link under each video for the mp3 file download which links to your content locker.

i've seen people doing this for new albums that just dropped (remember kanye west the life of pablo in the news?) but i don't see why you can't twist it and apply it to new music videos. if it's viral and you can piggy back off that traffic, it should be easy money.

You don't have to host the mp3 on your site.
Put a link to someone's site where the mp3 is hosted ((zippyshare?). Or an empty file if you don't give a fuck about your visitors. Or more hoops for them to jump through. Or an affiliate link to some media download manger software. I hope you get the idea.

Creating a site to make money is just one part of it but you have to look at how you're going to drive traffic to it otherwise you won't make a penny from it. There are more parts to this than just making a site.

Usually creating the site is the easy part while driving traffic to it is the one that determines your earnings and requires more effort and skills. So choose the website idea that you think you can bring more visitors to and keep in mind that virtually nobody is going to visit your site unless you "bring" them to it.
